Well it looks like Steam wins again. Or does it? Anyone know if the games in this bundle are good? The steam reviews look good for a lot of them. Man if GOG got more aggresive with bundle sales...

Edit: Link isn't working, just google bundlestars and look at the retro heroes bundle for 2 dollars

Just so you know, this phrase is kind of bait around here.

To answer your question seriously, the games honestly don't look that great to me. Mostly just shovelware.
I'm not sure how you're suggesting that this is better than what GOG offers somehow.

Did you inten...

Oh. Now I see you've edited to say the link isn't working. I was wondering if the recursion was intentional.

Edit: Just as an FYI: looks like you don't have enough rep to post a working link. Iirc the minimum is 10.

I mean, if the games really appeal to you, then go for it, but honestly? I've seen way better on BundleStars before.
I've wanted that Strife game ever since it came out in like 1996 or whatever, but will probably wait until it's on sale for $2 or so here on GOG, or I win it in a steamgifts giveaway or similar. I'd prefer to buy it here on GOG but it's like $12 CAD here and never goes on sale.

$12 GOG, really? $12... NFW... :) I mean, $12 is totally pfffttable. I almost want to get my microphone out and record that, and upload the audio as a file attachment for dramatic effect.

Shit, The Witcher 1, a MUCH better game goes on sale for $1.49 regularly FFS. :) Witcher 2 goes on sale for $2.49 or so too. Strife for $12? Yeah, I bet they've sold one copy of that since it came to the store. LOL

Most of the games in that bundle aren't even on GOG AFAIK except Strife, so it's all whether the games and price causing tingling I guess. :)

Chances are they're all DRM-free anyway.

I spent way too long trying to figure out what was wrong with "$12", until I noticed there was no "S" in that acronym.

Actually, most of the games are on GOG. The only ones that aren't are Trap Them, Iron Commando and Z.A.R. (so 3 of 8).

Here, this'll save you some trouble.
I saw Wizardry 6+7, and in my book, that makes this bundle 100% worth it. But wait! Those are great games, but the steam versions are not that good, just simple dos .exe's. I mean it is good enough to play, but I feel like the GOG version is more stable, plus it i easier to get your hands on the essential extras that come with it, like the guides and manuals. So it's a meh from me.
I'm guessing in GOG's contractual obligations it says something like "You can't put the game on sale for a reasonable price until you sell 10000 copies of it" or something like that.

Every site that sells the Steam version of the game seems to have a contractual clause of "sell it for whatever you want, hell give it away and throw in some hookers and blow" though. :)

Quit one-upping my jokes! I'm barely outpacing tinyE as it is, don't make me have to lock you in the outhouse, too.

I mean, uh....not the outhouse, but, y'know...that private island I have a ticket for you to vacation on...
