dtgreene: The game I play, Swarm Simulator, calls itself a simluator (it's in the title), but it doesn't even try to be realistic. Also, it has no graphics, mainly because no computer could ever render the number of drones I have (which exceeds the number of particles in the universe, I'm pretty sure).
What have you done, now can't stop playing... :/

KasperHviid: No VR support???

Edit: The developers said that "VR is something we'd love to support one day"

rtcvb32: VR seems like a fad that will never become popular, mainstream or a major component of our entertainment.
The future is now, old man.

OldFatGuy: FULL DISCLOSURE: I saw a comment above so I should disclose that I have been 100% bed bound since March of 2020, so obviously I haven't had to mow the yard in quite some time, but I have spent many a sweaty, itchy, hot, miserable hours mowing this yard. And while I posted this as a joke, (I do know that simulators jumped the shark long ago) I wasn't until recently (last week) aware of mowing simulators and it brought back memories of that crappy job. I greatly miss lots of things since being bed bound, mostly my freedom to go out into the car and drive somewhere whenever I wanted, I most definitely do NOT miss mowing this damn yard. I do wish, however, that instead of having to pay someone to do it now, that I could get someone to pay me for the "authentic mowing experience" because I can absolutely guarantee them an authentic mowing experience.
Buy a VR headset and stream from cameras on a goat eating the lawn grass and have both goat and lawnmower simulator in real life.

But does the goat have a chameleon tongue?
Great News! Epic is giving away Lawn Mowing Simulator next week on July 28th. This means that everyone will be able to experience the thrilling action of riding around on a lawn mower.

rtcvb32: The CastAR was being built based on reflective material, with the result it could run on a USB (5V) power i believe, and was a slightly larger pair of glasses from when i'd last seen they were doing in development.

Oh well....
Augmented reality is making slow strides, but after Google Glass felll off the planet, I think most people are too afraid to try again.

I got a chance to borrow one of those, didn't understand it at first, then when i could see what it was suppose to give, it was so insignificant i knew i didn't want it. This was back in 2015?

CastAR was nice where you only saw things on certain reflective surfaces and otherwise had no effect; This had the advantage of you making as big or small of a screen as you'd want at a location, or laying a matdown. CastAR REALLY looked like it would have taken off if it was paired in order to do D&D and miniatures stuff, as everyone could see the same thing overall, drawing out maps and moving imaginary pieces for use in such social situations. (And would not be too terribly intensive and could run on a lower end PC/laptop)

But oh well, maybe it will revive. But seems unlikely.
