Red is not the same as Crimson.

dtgreene: Neither are stones and scones.

Here, have some stones to eat!
I think you're confusing the Stone of Scone (pronounced SKOON) aka the Stone of Destiny, with a Scone (rhymes with GONE) which is a delicious baked product. Both are Scots words. Both are easily confused. Further south (and in some other places) they get called Scone (rhymes with STONE), but thats poo!

Similarly, Chips (English, British) are not the same as Fries / French Fries (American English, North American) which are not the same as Chips (American English, North American) which are just Crisps .

And Fadge (a type of Irish potato cake or bread as I remember) is not the same as Fadge / Fanny (English, British - common term for vagina) which is not the same as Fanny (American English, North American) meaning posterior.
You can eat all three, ones a front bum, ones the regular bum.

This one is a bit embarrassing (for a beer drinker), but:

Corona and Desperados are not the same beer.

They both can hardly be considered beers, though.

Agag and Gagak are not the same interdimensional being...

Telika: Torment is no Planescape. :-(

For starters, in Planescape, the quests could be completed. :-/
Planescape (the AD&D setting) and Planescape: Torment (the computer game that is set in that setting) are not the same.

In particular, Planescape (the setting) has one "possible" quest (killing the Lady of Pain) which can't be completed if you go by published rules.

Edit: Also, America and the U.S.A. are not the same.

Steve McQueen is not Steve McQueen and this is getting irritating. I'm a bit pissed at mum McQueen and dad McQueen.
God damn it! I spent at least 10 minutes of my precious time at www.imdb.com, trying to find the name of the movie where Elijah Wood played the FBI agent as an undercover white supremacist.

Except that... the actor wasn't Elijah Wood, but Daniel Ratcliffe.

https://www.imdb.com/name/nm0000704/?ref_=nv_sr_srsg_0
https://www.imdb.com/name/nm0705356/?ref_=tt_cl_t_1

This is so confusing... since they are so similar, why can't they just share the same name, like Elijah Radcliffe, to make everyone's life easier?

Oh and the movie was "Imperium" (2016), by the way...

https://www.imdb.com/title/tt4781612/?ref_=nv_sr_srsg_0

I loved Elijah in the Harry Potter movies, though!

Did you see Will Ferrel in the new Monster Hunter movie? How about Leslie Nielson's Pink Panther? Or how about Jay Leno's surprise appearance in Monster Hunter World?
coke and coke are not the same. Though both are very popular and even related in the past, if you ask the wrong person in the wrong place, you might be offered coke and not coke.
Irony and sarcasm are not the same despite both being often misused, poorly detected and badly understood. And also being frequently called as each other.

Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania are not the same despite them being indistinguishable from too far away.

The same is true of Laos, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Cambodia and Vietnam.
Recently I learned that Just Cause and Uncharted are not the same game (series)! I guess, I thought so, because of the grappling hook?
