I downloaded stronghold crusader 2 to my memory stick and copied it across onto a desktop with windows 7(at my workplace offshore and the desk top has no access to the internet),
now the game plays fine however there is no sound to the game, there is sound on the desktop itself, just no sound to the
game.

Any help would be appreciated

Did you check the Audio Settings of the game? Go take a look just in case; SC2 has a history of audio resetting, according to pcgamingwiki.com (https://pcgamingwiki.com/wiki/Stronghold_Crusader_2)

Audio settings in game are on and at default settings, unless im missing something
Might be a case of the audio drivers not being installed.
I've played this game for many hours, never had any problem with sound. I actually played the game yesterday for a bit, no problem as well.

Must be something with your pc. did ye check if other games work fine ?
Stupid question, but you're not deaf, are you?

You may also have to copy over the full downloadable version of DirectX9 + install it onto the work desktop running windows7 to get sound working.

Try this microsoft.com download link (directx june 2010 offline installer package)
https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=8109
Or rather than copying the install directory download the offline backup installers instead and install it properly on your other system. That usually saves all the hassle of trying to muck with independent DX and .NET packages.

...he said, and then looked at the wall where the Technical Support Employee of the Year medal was pinned. :P
