Mouse or Keyboard doesn't work in Empires:Dawn of the Modern World. None of the solutions in this forum work. No way to put in a ticket for Technical Support. I wouldn't spend a penny here. If their product doesn't work you have only one option. Get a refund within 30 days. Someone recently turned me to Steam. 100% recommend. They actually have support not hoding beyond a bot.
But your profile says that you've played ~100 hours of that game, so something must be working, no ?.

He got so angry and frustrated with the controls that he stormed off and was AFK for six days.
Guys, OP played it like 3 years ago. It's possible they changed their machine or operating system and now something just isn't working.

But yeah, there's no chance for a refund now, no matter if it's Steam or GOG. (Edit: ok, with GOG you can't be completely sure when it comes to refunds I suppose).

Supposedly the chatbot prompts you for information to create a support ticket, if you repeatedly say it wasn't helpful. I use InkPanther's user style to bypass the chatbot altogether.

No, there's no way to tell when he last played it. He reached the 100-hour milestone 3 years ago, then played another 44 hours at some point.

I'm positive you can only request a refund within 30 days after purchase.

Officially. Exceptions can be and have been made on a case-by-case basis. There would probably have to be some pretty strong extenuating circumstances for Support to offer a refund for a game purchased more than three years ago and played for well over a hundred hours, though -- and that would also require OP to have the patience to get past the support bot to talk to an actual person.

What happens in the event that a forced update breaks the game? For example when gog removes the last working version of a game for winXP or Win7 or another reason.
Even though support can't solve every problem they will do their best to help you. It's not their fault that this bot is gating direct access. It's a major nuisance and difficult to navigate. Once a real person is assigned to help you they are doing a great job. It's like many things here on GOG, what's wrong is technical in nature: The website, forum, bot or Galaxy ... everything could be so much better than it still is right now. That's just an extra burden to the people assigned to support us.

In case you really need support, keep an eye out for the blues, initiate a chat and ask them to forward your problem. Sometimes they are going to take care of it themselves right away. In case you already received help in the past, sent them an e-mail and kindly ask them to help you out. And if all of these steps fail, post it here so a blue can notice it.

Just keep in mind it's people, it's no live or die situation, so a little patience will go a long way ... but don't blame them, they aren't the ones implementing a chatbot that's not very helpful or anything else they aren't personally involved with. :-)
