Yesterday, I received a newsletter e-mail from GOG that said:
"Thanks for using GOG GALAXY 2.0. We’ve noticed you have not connected any external platforms."

And afterwards the usual sauce about the benefits of connecting, easy steps to do it blahblah....

The thing is, I do have my Steam account connected to Galaxy (as you can see in the screenshot) and have had it connected for a pretty long time now. So the question is, why did I get this e-mail?

It would seem like there was some sort of error in the criteria by which the recipients of this message were decided.

Anyone else have a platform connected but still got this mail? What gives?

I have gotten this email too but don't have anything connected however where's my option to directly respond and asking them to kindly fuck off with those ideas.

As to why this happens to you, it's GOG and not much work as it should.

Yes, same here. Several platforms are connected and yet I've got the mail.

Add me to the list.
GOG wants you to connect with ALL platforms. No slacking!
I won't connect a dammed thing during beta.

I'm just not interested in running a client within a client. If I want to play something on Steam I open Steam. If I want to play something on Origin I open Origin. Makes for far less clutter, too.

Until there is a SkyNet of all games, this will remain my practice as well.
IMO it's good if everyone received it, because I wasn't very keen of Gog tracking what I do in Galaxy.

They could have just chosen a better text, like "Do you know that you can connect other external platform?" instead of a random "We’ve noticed you have not connected..".

I do that as well. I just connected Steam back then to test how it works. Currently, I only use it to see the total tally of items I own on the platforms.

It is just weird that even people who already know about and actually use the feature were targeted for this newsletter message. Or they just used the wrong wording, but it would be better to avoid unnecessarily spamming the non-target audience too.
