First I want to give a shout out to the people of GOG. Thank you, as far as I can tell GOG is the best for squiring games.

My brother had FEAR 2 Project Origin that he had bought when it first came out. But over the years he moved several times and got a divorce. He pulled out the game and had lost his information about how to log on to Steam to play. He said that this was all through his ex-wife and her account and there was no way to recover that information. So he had paid for a game he could no longer play. He didn't have the email address, anything it was useless.

So I found the game here on GOG for little of nothing, and took a chance on it. I had some trouble downloading it, but that was my fault. Got it all figured out and downloaded and now my brother can play the game again, me too :).

So thanks GOG your great.

I really like BioShock, had seen it over the years but never bought it or played until I found it here on GOG.
Welcome, comrade! :)
Welcome!

Come for the games, stay for the Baklava!

Sounds good and I hope you enjoy your stay here. Check out the stickies for info on third party addons you might need to use/enjoy some things on GOG/fix some things GOG doesn't offer with their forum software, and to get other useful info.

Also you can use question threads(click the checkbox near the top of the window when starting a thread to make it a question) to ask people stuff here on games/etc or ask staff via the support tab(and clicking contact us) above, and there are subforums for the various games on offer as well.

Lastly some offer contests for those(some offer them to all and some only to longtime users) here with various games as prizes if you're low on funds.

GL and welcome to the forums

Glad you joined comrade.

Here, brothers-in-arms fight against the D.R.M. hordes of despair. Enjoy your games and don't bother much with the forums, except for the game related ones. Be the perfect gamer.

Forward to victory.

You have encapsulated the highs and lows of pc gaming, which includes the ability to control your assets (purchased entertainment) and the variable experience of running games on a Windoze box. :D

Welcome!
Everyone should have their own account unless really living in the same household but in case you move apart (ie children growing up and moving out) you will need your own account. So, the OP's brother should create their own account and buy the game too.

Or they could visit each other and play the game on the same computer they started with...like families do sometimes. :)
Welcome to GOG dianofish. Hope you'll enjoy the games on GOG and the community as well

Glad to have you!

Here's few tips on on how these forums work that may not be obvious at first glance:

- While the sub-forums aren't as active as those on Steam, that doesn't mean that people aren't keeping an eye on them. Someone will eventually almost always come to help you if you post a question and those that do tend to be quite knowledgeable. Support is also helpful and worth contacting if you have problems.

- There's forum contests that people hold where they giveaway free game codes. No guarantees that you'll win, but it's fun to take part and might net you something good.

- Don't worry about reputation. You get 1p for your first point of the day and more if people upvote you, but the score itself is meaningless.

- People with blue names are mods. People with orange names are attached to game companies. Mods here are quite friendly and will help you if you have any questions.

In general, the forum vibe is one of people that can be grumpy at times but who are also very helpful and enthusiastic about games. Feel free to ask questions and participate as you please.
Welcome to GOG! :)
