Well price per GB is far higher on ssd than hdd. Also there is t at much evidence as to how long term viable ssd is compared to hdds (noting that there are specific hdds for backup purposes.
So the question is, why bother spending a lot of money getting super fast ssds to hold your backup data you might only use once or twice in its lifetime? I wonder how much my 2 * 16tb raid devices plus 10tb internal hdd and 3 USB hdds would cost if I replaced them with ssds?
Maybe in the future when the cost of them goes down and the capacity goes up then it would be feasible.

After a nuclear war, EMP attack or strong solar flare, all data not stored on CD's, DVD's or similar methods, will be wiped out. You will all suffer severe gaming withdrawal, eventually resulting in eventual heroin addiction, while I will be happily playing my games on my solar powered desktop (previously protected inside a lead-lined armoire).
