I am new too D&D and I am wondering the best starter game for a noob to play. I have been binge watching ProJareds AD&D: Pool of Radiance and I want to play some D&D, yet I don't know where to start. Let me thank you in advance for taking the time to answer my question.
Black Isle era: Planescape: Torment
SSI era: Ravenloft: Strahd's Possession or Stone Prophet

The SSI era is leaps and bounds vaster than the Black Isle and into the Bioware era. If you can overlook the dated graphics, there's bound to be something in there that catches your eye.
there are alot of "D&D" based video games
best to worst
as each game is roughly based on the D&D concept any of them would be a good starter, back in the day before "computers" we only had the books version and it was AWSOME!!!!!

That's quite tricky. I don't necessarily disagree with the previous posters, but it's quite dependant on you, what you like and what you know about these things. BG2 is a very large game, but relatively easy to get into, but you miss the plot part from 1. Bg1 is a bit more basic. Ice wind dale is more combat focused. Planescape is a lot of story which I found a bit of a drag in places. Never winter nights 1 is ok, it goes 3D but I found lacked a bit over bg. Nwn2 main campaign is a joke, play mask of the betrayer if you want a story. All require some reading on how the d&d system work. Pool of radiance the first one is very good but very old and harsh and unforgiving, so best to know the system beforehand. Personally I would start with bg1 and read a guide or two on gamefaqs about character creation (as you will use them for a long time). Also note on bg1/2 there is a mod called big world setup which combines both games and adds a lot of extra content.
The one I had most fun with and I think is most accessable is Neverwinter Nights 2. But I am in the minority (if not the only such madman in fact) that doesn't like the Baldur's Gate/Icewind Dale/Torment games.
