It seems that you're using an outdated browser. Some things may not work as they should (or don't work at all).
We suggest you upgrade newer and better browser like: Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer or Opera

Hi all,

I was very excited to try the new Expeditions and have eagerly been waiting for an update.

The update has downloaded about 5-6 times already, gets to the final MB. The says 'Moving Files' and then Updated Failed.

I have checked my HDD and it has plenty of space for the 18GB update.
All other updates to this date have worked.

My assumption is that just this morning I have deleted the 'temporary cloud files' because it was prompting me to do so (which is kind of strange that it is 200MB for all my games!).

Has anyone had any issues downloading the update?
Are there any suggestions out there of what I can do? I have a save that is 200 hours that I really do not want to corrupt. I have backed it up, but would rather not go through the whole delete and reinstall unless I have to.

(have managed to stop the update and open the game. Game loaded without issue. Some UI changes are already present but obviously the massive update not yet. I have exited the game so that the cloud sync happens, maybe assuming this helps. Will update in about 10mins when the beast download downloads for the 7th time! Yay! As expected, its failed again to download)

Many thanks!

EDIT: Have reinstalled it fresh to another HDD and it seems to have worked. Have also turned cloud sync off. I assume one of those was the culprit.

Oh, it doesn't need 18. It needs 36. Double the space you think because GOG's installers were programmed by someone who doesn't know what a /tempfs means, or any other modern installer ideal such as a temporary ram mount.

Same problem here! Attempted to update NMS via Galaxy and I received the exact same error. I don't believe the problem is on my end, as I've got 60 Gb of free space on my SSD drive and even if Galaxy requires double the installation space (2 x 18 = 36 Gb), I've got sufficient room.

I've already backed up my NMS save file and I appear to be on the latest version of Galaxy. I know that I could try to download the offline installer directly and possibly do a fresh install, but to be honest, I'm not very motivated as I've abandoned playing NMS ever since they dropped multiplayer support for W7.

Still, I do wish to get to the bottom of this. If Galaxy fails to properly update a game that I purchased, then I ask myself, why do I bother clinging on to this optional client?

Note: If I receive an update alert for another game, I will test this and report back here, just to see if the failed update is specific to NMS or a general Galaxy problem for all games that request an update.
