A reboot is being developed by Wargaming of World of Tanks, Warships, and Warplanes fame.

I have the original games on my wishlist. Can anyone explain what kind of game Master of Orion is?

In a nut shell : 4X in space, and a damn good one with a big tech tree, heroes, race traits, ship design (and combat) and Micromanagement.
Not in a nut shell: Impossible to explain without playing the game (or watching a lot of Lets Play. Even the manual is over 100 pages long... I think).

Its less about combat and more about Space Politics that sometimes can result in conflicts?
