As someone who keeps playing the game on a regular basis, I'm super excited about this. Anybody else feels the same way? Anybody else loves rum raisin ice cream?

New HoTA content.

Heroes of Might and Magic 3 Complete(GOG) + HD Mod + Horn of the Abyss. Honestly, I'd play it now, who knows if I'll still have the free the time by winter.

Having said that, I wouldn't be surprised if they delay it further, it's been almost 2 years since they first released footage of the new Factory town.

It's wonderful that the game still lives after more than 20 years. Not everyone will like the new faction, I'm afraid. It adds technology based units, which was the reason 3DO dropped Forge town in Armageddon's Blade expansion. I'm fine with it however. Can't wait when the update is released!

Because of idiots, the nearly complete town was dropped and the glued together Conflux planned for the 2nd expansion was hurried out to replace it with 0 thought for balancing. We could have had a canonical evil ending in MM7 but some people got so butthurt over it as to send threat letters and even a death threat to 3DO about it, forcing them to cancel it.

Still what I consider one of the biggest mistakes in gaming.

Thanks for sharing this. HoMM 3 has been one of my most favourite games ever since I discovered it on this website. I too go back to it every so often and just love it. Can't wait to see what this content plays like.

Yeah, I also regret that Forge was never implemented into the game. Conflux is not bad, but Forge would be more original and unique. I've read that modders tries to implement the town, but the project was never completed.

Speaking of which, it's also GOG's best-selling game. No seriously, it's got the #1 spot. Not that it comes as much of a surprise, as it tends to usually hog one of the top ten spots of active bestsellers (whether it's on sale or not) - currently it's just a few spots from a front page placement. ;) Suck it, crippled HD Edition!

I'm sure it's in the top 10 poorest HD remakes of all times. There's really only one way to go if you want to play HoMM3 with modern res support: the original Complete edition + this fan-made HD mod.
