Hello everyone,
I've had a GOG account for a little while now but just recently made a brand new GOG account using a new email address. I have never had any issues purchasing games on my old account but on my new account I can't purchase anything. More specifically, whenever I checkout and press the "pay for your order now" button, I'm sent to an error page that says "Something went wrong. We're unable to process your payment due to a temporary technical issue." I have tried doing this multiple times, with multiple different credit cards, on multiple different computers, but get the same error every time. I have also made sure it is not a problem with the bank rejecting the charge. The really interesting part is that I managed to find a temporary solution. Basically, I can buy games on my old account, and gift it to myself and redeem them on my new account perfectly fine. This leads me to believe it's an issue specifically tied to my new account. I've already sent in a GOG support request with all the necessary information but was hoping someone had some information on a way to solve this problem so that I won't have to do this every time I want to buy a game on my new account.
Thank you.

Are you trying to buy the games as gift codes? There is a restriction for gifting to new accounts, which would not affect the older one. But if you try to buy games normally, then it should work.

Contacting Support was a good idea. They are very professional and helpful.
This has nothing to do with a solution to your issue, but just a curiosity. Why did you make a new account if you are not having issues with your old one?

No I'm just trying to buy the games normally but my temporary solution that I found is to use my old account to buy games and gift them to my new account.

I basically just wanted to organize the games I play into two different accounts based on what kind of game it is. It's a bit weird haha but I tend to organize my things weirdly a lot.

I know you've already given your mind's worth, but why not just use tags?
