which client did you use to redeem (steam/origin)?

also, if you're comfortable with it, i think you should post screenshots of your computer so we can get a better picture of the situation.

If you have redeemed your key here on GOG, the easiest way to download the game would probably be to install GOG Galaxy from here. Start it, type in your passowrd for your account and then click top right on library. Click on "The Witcher 3" and then chose "Install".

To change the default download directory click on the left side on the little wheel and change the directorys to where you want the game to be installed. There are other ways to download the game but I'd guess this is the easiest for a new member. Welcome :)
The email said to use gog. I found out where to download now.I still don't know how to select where it downloads to. I have 107gb free on my c drive and 450gb free on my d and e drive. for some reason when I download games it automatically selects the c drive

Thanks Mark, where is this little wheel found??

Are you using Galaxy? Or directly from Gog?

You probably have your browser set up to download automatically to the specified download folder. You could make it prompt you where to download to for each new download, or you could specify a new folder to automatically download to.

If you tell us which browser you have there will be people here who should be able to give you detailed instructions how to do that. Some examples of browsers are Firefox, Opera, Internet Explorer or Chrome.

Yes - although I'd recommend making a folder in your D: drive and putting it in that (it's not best practice to put files in the "root" of a drive).

Also, assuming you're NOT using Galaxy, you'll have to install the game as well. After you download all the files, you'll double click the small file that looks different from the rest. It will prompt you to install and allow you to click "Options" to choose a location. You'll want to change this to something like "D:\Games\Witcher3." If it asks to create this folder, just click yes.

They would not be installed in the root drive if he chose D:\ because Galaxy always adds a game directory. So chosing D:\ as Install would install the game to "D:\The Witcher 3 Wild Hunt".

Regarding the different directorys:

"Install Game" - This is where the game will actually be installed.
"Download Game" - This is where the game will be downloaded before it will be installed. After being installed this folder will be empty again.
"Download Extras" - This is where the extras will be saved to.

To change all three of them seperately you need to check the box "Manage all folders manually".

You can before you install it.

If you're using Galaxy, MarkoH01 actually informed me that even if you only select D:, Galaxy will take care of everything for you so you won't even need to!

Did you use Galaxy?
yes ive used galaxy! Thats great news
