I'm not a fan of isometric or top-down games and would like a list of first or third person perspective games on GOG.com, preferably RPGs but also like some shooters etc.

Known:
- The Witcher series
- Fallout series
- The Elder Scrolls series
- Metro series

Stalker might be your cup of tea.
https://www.gog.com/game/stalker_shadow_of_chernobyl
Third person:
Dragon Age
Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen
GreedFall
Divinity 2: Developer's Cut
Gothic series
Risen series
Elex
Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic series

First person:
Kingdom Come: Deliverance
Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines
Deus Ex
System Shock 2
The best game I played of late, "Kingdom Come: Deliverance". An absolutely fantastic game. Especially if you like history.

But Stalker games are absolutely amazing as well.
If you're okay with grid-based movement and "blobbers", you might want to check out

- Legend of Grimrock
- Vaporum
- StarCrawlers

too.
GOG tags many games with FPP (First person perspective) or TPP (third person perspective)

This search is an example search for third person role playing games.

You can replace tpp with fpp for first person, and role-playing with 'action' or 'shooter'.

Two important caveats
1. Since games are limited to three tags, not every applicable game gets TPP or FPP. For example Gothic 1 is listed, the other Gothics are not.
2. GOG often selects the genre by blindfolded dart throwing. This is why I recommend checking the action category as well. It contains everything from FPS, Third person role playing games, 2D platformers, rhythm games and walking simulators.

More advanced searches can be performed through the MaGoG engine, where you can additionally filter or sort by price. user rating (and for those on dial up: file size)

Oblivion and Morrowind are both very good.

I also recommend Bioshock, Bioshock Infinite, and System Shock

Stalker is good, despite the fact it was made by Russians, LOL.

When did the use of the term "over the shoulder" (referring to the camera perspective in third-person 3D games where the camera follows behind the character) start to peter out? It's a very useful term. "Third-person" is the more general category, containing basically everything that's not first-person. From this perspective, this topic's title is faintly hilarious.
For RPG:

Gothic Series
Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen

For FPS:

Singularity
Unreal Tournament 2004

Just to be clear, you're looking for suggestions of games to buy?
