I remember an old game where you were a space ship that had to destroy bases made of pipes and shoot the center of them to destroy the whole thing. You had to clear the whole map and loads of enemies shot at you.

update: It was a two dimensonal game , with a sort of space invaders art style. You could only move your ship in 45 degree angles. It was sort of a bullet hell type game

Anyone have any idea what this game was called?

I assume you looked at the vertical shooters here? There are a few. Did this game resemble any of them?

nah it wasnt a vertical shooter , it was on a map and you had a minimap that showed where the rest of the pipes were
