Thanks everyone for the support :)

Yes, it is pretty overwhelming to have a book published. It's a mix between saying "Yeah, I did it" and "Crap, what if it doesn't sell at all?". But it is worth it. To be honest, it is my second book, my first one is a horror tales collection that I self-published way before ebooks existed. I made 200, and still have around 180 in my house xD

Anyone who still hasn't finished a book, maybe try taking on shorter stories first, like a page or two long. You can have a nice short stories book in some time.

Your books probably will still very few, but that's the market. For most people, it takes six or seven novels in the market before people latch on. And even then, it's usually just a little slow income, not a full time job. Writing always is a passion unless you're simple amazing at it. Then it becomes a job (boo!).

The average fantasy published novel gets the highest advance of any genre and it is only $10,000. Something around 85 percent never make the teen thousand back.

So don't be down on yourself if it doesn't sell. If you liked writing, just keep writing. Your writing will soak to some, not to others. And eventually, you'll have an audience who looks out for your books.

I had no idea about that. In my country is pretty much impossible to get a literary agent so getting a publishing deal is simply not happening here.

I should say, that was from the U.S. I forget some of our market priveleges over here.

You have some decent English on here. You may want to think about getting an English version out there, too.
I have called the Fire Brigade. (Ray Bradbury ref in case you did not kow)

Little did he know that we didn't need fire, we needed an emp.
Congratulations! There was a time I wanted to write some kind of fantasy novel but I guess I've never really felt... ready?

Thanks, though my english is not thaaaat good. There are a lot of words I don't know. But I do keep in mind to translate it one of this days. Or months... it really is a long process.

You'll never feel ready when it comes to "pour yourself out" in a book. Maybe you could try to start writing short stories.
It's not the same, like comparing a film to a TV series, but the basics are the same. Sit in front of a white screen and a blinking cursor. Start typing stuff. Whatever comes to your mind. I usually start with a random word, like "door". Ok, so what happens with the door... and the rest comes along without thinking about it.

Hey, that's really interesting advice. I'll try that, thank you!
