Hello everyone, I bought Control Ultimate Edition from cdkeys.com and redeemed it in GOG. I played the game for a while and wanted to start a new game, so I did but after playing it through chapters, the game was bug or something. The paths I passed in the old save were not reset and I could not obtain the items and skills in the paths, and if I selected the mission, I still couldn't complete it because I couldn't find the NPCs. I tried to delete and install the game, but it's not working (as well as unchecking syncing with the cloud). It's like the game data is saved or linked with my account. I don't know what to do now. Please help me.

First off, I can’t imagine buying a key off some store as being legal, GOG generally (not 100%) doesn’t do keys, so you may well lose your game due to fraud at some point.
Next, galaxy is “optional”. Me I would remove it completely. If it saves your save after a reinstall, your not telling it to remove saves on exit, at least that’s how the offline installers works. Galaxy who knows, once it’s embedded itself in your system.
You can find the save location here:
https://www.pcgamingwiki.com/wiki/Control
And manually remove any files.

Don't buy keys from other sites!

The GOG version of Control is being offered on Prime Gaming this month. People who already owned the game either resell the key for a few cents or give it away on random sites (I've seen quite a few on r/GOG the past week). This happens pretty much every time Amazon offers an AAA title.
While I get the issue with keyshops, I'm pretty sure OP has a genuine key.
Sounds reminiscent of this problem: https://www.gog.com/forum/control/more_problems

Ok. So the steamification continues then. Effectively no game will be worth anything here either as you can pick up keys for next to nothing. Even more reason not to buy anything…
