Hey guys,

I am looking for games on GOG which are fun to play with a friend on the same computer and screen.

Competitive or co-op is both fine.

This could be games

- In which the keyboard is split and you really play simultaneously. Example: You don't know Jack. This is a quiz game where (I think) up to 3 players get one key on the keyboard and then use it like a buzzer in a TV quiz show.

- Which can be played with more than one game-pad, but on the same screen. This includes split-screen, such as Mario Kart on the Super Nintendo.

- With traditional hot-seat mode, i.e. players taking turns within a certain time-limit.

Do you have any suggestions?

low rated
Simultaneous:

* Shovel Knight: Shovel of Hope (co-op) and Showdown (comptetitive)
* Crimzon Clover (co-op)

Hot seat:
* I believe Civilization 3&4 and Alpha Centauri would qualify here.

Edit: Also, not all of us are guys. (I'm not, for example.)

The original Battle Isle (included here) has simultaneous MP. One player is the the movement phase, the other in action phase. Lot's of fun, if you are into strategy games.
Lovers in a Dangerous Spacetime Up to 4 players at once, single-screen
Hellpoint Split-screen co-op
Fort Triumph Hotseat co-op
Wizard of Legend 2-player couch co-op
Tesla vs Lovecraft 4-player couch co-op

Once again, "guys" is gender-neutral. It applies to everyone regardless of whether you're male or female.

guy

noun

1 informal a man: he's a nice guy
• (guys) people of either sex: you guys want some coffee?
Heroes of Might and Magic III & IV

hotseat
Aww yiss, hot-seat is my thing :)

Battle Isle: Incubation (available in this package: https://www.gog.com/game/battle_isle_platinum)

Has hot-seat mode, up to four players (every player is making his own team, giving weapons/equipment etc), very accessible but not simplified game

Age of Wonders (in fact all games in the series) - classic fantasy strategy game with very cool heroes development, (Planetfall is space fantasy though), I personally recommend especially first game and third (disclaimer - latter require DLCs for some races)

Missionforce: Cyberstorm - making your team of HERCs is taking a bit of time, but it has very intuitive and yet quite rich gameplay, so it's totally worth it

Same/split screen:

Jazz Jackrabbit 2 - it's still as good as it was back in 90/early 2000'. Disclaimer - one weird thing is, that split-screen method (vertically or horizontally) can be changed only in level settings (level editor), usually it's splitting screen on top&bottom.
Hello.
Here is a list of games i had persnal experience with.
- Guilty Gear X2 Reload - anime-styled fighting game with some brokenfighters.
- Mortal Kombat series - same as above but more realistic more western and more blody and therefore BETTER.
- Massive Assault and Massive Assault: Phanom Renaissance - a forgotten strategy classic made by Wargaming.
To bad it is discontinued. If Worlds of Tanks/Warships/Whatever flops i hope they return to Make Massive Assault Great Again.
- Heroes seried from III to V - cult classic strategy with unforgottable soundtrack composed by Paul Anthony Romero.
Check "Heroes Orchestra" and BELIEVE that soundtrack fot these games is truly fabolous.
- Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons - Two playable characters. Cooperation between brothers is mandatory to push game forward.
- Battle Isle: Incubation - Your marines vs enemy marines and highly customizable equipment.
- MissionForce: Cyberstorm: Your Mech.. HERCS against eneyy HERCS. You can also add AI to the carnage. Unfortunetly I have not seen a option to customize HERCS in a skirmish.
- Lego Star Wars The Complete Saga - I do not have to introduce LEGO and Star Wars, do I?
i hope You will pick up something from it and enjoy.
Best Regards
Mateuszy

I think the following games are fun to play on the same screen:

The Warlords series - hot-seat multiplayer mode

The Worms series - hot-seat multiplayer mode
