Anyone into playing multiplayer on some of these older titles. Use this thread to meet other people who may want to play some games together. I have tried to find some people in game specific forums but those are not active enough sometimes. State the type of games you like to play and try and meet other users who like the same.

I myself like to coop old fps games like blood, duke 3d and quake, also would like to have someone to play some strategy games against like HoMM and Disciples. Also would be interested in Carmageddon 1 and 2 if anyone plays those.

Dang, Carmageddon multiplayer might be awesome! What happens if you get wasted though? Is there respawning? If not then it might suck a bit too much to be taken out early, as a stage can carry on for a good 15+ minutes.

I don't know if it's been done before, but some giveaways centered around some sort of multiplayer tournament might be a lot of fun.

I have never actually played carmageddon multiplayer, it was just one of the games I have been playing lately that I thought might be kind of fun against some other people.

That tournament idea sounds kind of fun too though.

I've done that, it sucks. Someone always shows up who knows exactly where the damage amplifier is, snags it, and then taps you, which is all it takes.

Each race last about 10 seconds.

Maybe there is. When I played it, Carmageddon was relatively new. That was obviously a long time ago and things might have changed; more settings, MP variations, etc.

There's quite a few modes it seems. Some of them might work ok for multiplayer (provided someone doesn't come in with perfect knowledge of all the powerful powerups):

Well, the final Civilization 2 expansion added multiplayer. Unfortunately, it's not available on this site.

Alpha Centauri, a similar game which *is* available on this site, also has multiplayer.

Just be aware that a full match of either game takes a while (in other words, hours), and that, late game, turns can take a very long time, even when playing against the AI, let along a human player. There's a reason that play by e-mail is considered a viable option for these games.
