Hi guys,

I bought as bunch of games because of the crazy sale that's going on. On of them (Grandia 2) is not working.

I get this this error:

---------------------------
grandia2.exe - System Error
---------------------------
The program can't start because MSVCR120.dll is missing from your computer. Try reinstalling the program to fix this problem.
---------------------------
OK
---------------------------

I've already tried putting MSVCR120.dll in the Grandia 2 folder, in the Windows folder, in System 32 folder, same message. Any ideas how to get this to work?
Try installing Visual C++ Redistributable Packages for Visual Studio 2013

Did you try installing MS Visual C runtime? Easiest way to solve issues like this is to actually install what it is asking for, instead of just copying files to random locations.

EDIT- ninja'd!

You are missing the 2013 version (Visual C++ Redistributable Packages for Visual Studio 2013 ).
I installed vcredist_x64.exe from the link that JogsterXL gave me, still doesn't work, same message. Now I remember why I stayed with consoles for so long :(

My luck for running PC games blows.

Install both x64 and x86.

OK, that worked. So you need 32bit dll files to run games in your 64bit operating system, that was obvious (not).

Thank you

The x64 and x86 refer to what executable you are running, not what OS. So for 32bit executables you want the x86 redistributables, regardless of OS architecture.

Don't know man, our company distributes a 32bit software but we have a 32bit setup and a 64bit steup due the the MS DLL files that we install to make our software run.

Hehehehe, look at this.
Fo compatibility reason you should have at least 2005, 2008, 2010, 2012, 2013 installed. They are not backwards compatible

Redist packages are waht youare looking for: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/2977003
