Subliminal messaging - threat, or urban legend?

Programming the Nation? a documentary look at manipulation in our everyday lives, is available now DRM-free on GOG.com.

Programming the Nation? is an analysis of the subliminal messaging in advertising (and outside) that surrounds the everyday lives of the American public - now and historically. Advertising, pop-culture icons, corporations, the military, politicians - are they all manipulating us subconsciously? The film seeks to answer the pressing questions through a series of interviews, "eye-opening" footage and even a little bit of humor.

Join director Jeff Warrick on a personal quest to answer the question: Programming the Nation through subliminal messaging a reality? Is it little more than just urban legend?
I am not a big fan of Obama ,but compared to a lot of his enemies.......

AndyBuzz: Of course you are, as you should and I'm too. In all practical terms 'movies' refer to feature films and I can't imagine ever going back to the old meaning. I was mostly objecting in a somewhat joking way to the negative opinions about documentaries. The problem, in my view, is not the genre but the quality of new releases. There are plenty of docus that I would love to have here. :)
I'm glad we both agree that simply creating a "video" on a smartphone doesn't necessarily qualify as a movie, which is contrary to what a few youtubers think. And Documentaries are even worse. Many think all you need is an opinion and slanted info and they assume it's an 'award winning documentary.' When in actuality that's a sure fire way to see your efforts end up on Netflix with the other worthless and incredibly patronizing documentaries (use that term lightly).

But I also agree with you that when one is great, it is amazing. The catch is to let the film/documentary present their case with info and let the audience come to their own conclusion. Patronizing only works on the simple and gullible. Which is why I'm cautious to side with the masses about "great" documentaries.
@dBLOOD

The movie your are thinking of is Dinesh D'Souza's "2016: Obama's America". He is being indicted by the IRS for that film too. "Barack Obama senior" was not his real father though. Check out "the cult of Subud". Obama is the spitting image of Mohammed Subud (cult founder). Even Loretta Fuddy, the Hawaii state health director that handled Obama's birth certificate, was (deceased now) a member of the cult of Subud, and so was Obama's mother. Obama's real last name is Soebarkah, and he didn't lie when he told my country he was born in Hawaii. Look up Hawaii, Kenya. Not too far from where his mother lived out of a dormitory in college. Hope the GOG community learned something today. Take care and God bless.
