The Mold has plans for you, kid!

Motivational Growth, a little sick-to-the-head, but nonetheless inspiring movie arguing the real importance of getting "out there" before you get too mold, is available 33% off on GOG.com. That's $3.99 for the first 48 hours!

Ian Folivor, a depressed and reclusive 30-something, finds himself taking advice from a growth in his bathroom after a failed suicide attempt. The Mold, a smooth talking fungus who was born of the filth collecting in a corner of Ian's neglected bathroom, works to win Ian's trust by helping him clean himself up and remodel his lifestyle. With The Mold's help, Ian attracts the attention of a neighbor he's been ogling through his peephole, Leah, and he manages to find a slice of happiness despite his unnatural circumstances. But Ian starts to receive strange messages from his old and broken down TV set that make him realize that The Mold may not be as helpful as it seems to be, and strange characters combined with stranger events cast Ian's life in the shadow of an epic battle between good and evil that Ian is only partially aware of.

Starring absolutely no Oscar nominees whatsoever, the Devolver Digital presentation, Motivational Growth, can be yours for only $3.99. The 33% discount offer lasts until Sunday, October 26, at 9:59AM GMT.

BTW, thanks for providing the English subs on that one ;)
Well, I do love me some weird movies. The premise of this one actually reminds me somewhat of How to Get Ahead in Advertising, which is a great film that more people should watch.
Wow, way to go GOG! This looks pretty damn wild & that's a fantastic price for the "curious" among us to just take the plunge.

to those not horribly familiar with Jeffrey Combs, PLEASE check out the Re-Animator series. He also does a great performance on The Frighteners (you'll hate his character, but he does a solid job).
Also, I'd like to point out that this is normally priced at 5.99 on GOG & is currently marked down 33% to only 3.99
*Now, I know you're all thinking, "DUH, we see that!", but I'd further like to point out that on digital outlet iTunes & Amazon the price is 12.99! and comes WITHOUT the commentary track, making of videos, script, poster art,and trailer that GOG is offering us. In fact, on Amazon the only way to view the film at 3.99 is buy renting it in SD!

GOG: Amazing price, DRM free, all the bonus features, wow-wow-wow-wow

I was about to buy it but you sold me further.

Though odd way to do the audio commentary as a FLAC file. I would have thought an mkv container with the movie and the audio as a different audio track to select. Maybe some time later down the line if GOG become more proficient with video mastering / container packaging.
Wow, first time I'm actually tempted by a movie release on GOG! :) Wishlisting for now.

It's a limitation of the mp4 container that GOG has chosen; it doesn't support FLAC, and IIRC the container doesn't even support multiple audio tracks in the same container... one reason why I much prefer Matroska, but supposedly mp4 is more compatible with e.g. media players built-in to TV sets. Also, for the end user muxing mp4 contents + commentary into an mkv with a utility like MKVToolNix ought to be quick and simple.

Did you pay in Euros or dollars?
3€ DRM free feature film. Jeffrey Combs, Devolver Digital. Extras.
All effects physical, no GCI bullshit.
The Director of the "SOMA" Game teasers, the new thing by the Amnesia guys.

Do you need more to convince yourself?
I buyed and watched it yesterday and just wrote my review.

Thats for being awesome GOG. Everyday.

Thanks for the link, one day when I get some time I'll have to play around with that utility

Speaking of the commentary track, we received it as a WAV file separate from the movie. Since we received it a separate file, there was really no way to include it in the movie as you'd have to sync up the commentary somehow with what's happening in the movie. Subtitles are something we can sync as they are 1:1 as far as content goes but a movie commentary? Well, that's another beast entirely. Keep in mind that I am no movie expert or anything :)

Also, with these movies I get to put my lip-reading talents to use as I use that as one form of checking whether the subs are in sync with the movie i.e does the lip movement match the subtitles presented :)

Strange, why cant' the creator give you a huge ass .mkv file with all tracks in it. That's what this container format is for, to have everything in it. Then you'd only have to write a program to create the down-transcoded versions. Giving the distributor the work of a cutting room is bad IMHO.
About the .mp4, I'd provide just .mkv files with mp4/aac for download and for the two or three people out there with devices not playing that, I'd link them to https://handbrake.fr/ so they can make their beloved .avi/.webm and whatnot. Even some stock TV my parents bought years ago plays .mkv just fine.

I know about conversion :P
That's not what I mean though. I mean the store page showed (and still shows) the movie costs 3.19 Euro's yet it made me pay 2,49 Euro's.
Kinda weird.
