Unplug the Xbox controller and plug your mouse back in. Or provide some actual relevant details on what the problem is!

Allow me to elaborate slightly on nightcrawler.488's post.

You have posted this in the GOG.com general discussion forum, without providing any context whatsoever to your problem. As a result, nobody here has any idea what game you are talking about (presumably it's about a game). Hence, nobody here will be able to help you.

Please provide proper information about your problem. Which game are you talking about? Do you have an XBox controller? Is it plugged in? What OS are you running?
Kind of hard to help when we have no idea what's going on. Please answer Wishbone's questions so people can try to help you, OP :)
Timing-wise I'd guess it's Divinity: Original Sin 2 related.
Or maybe someone stole his/her mouse and replaced it with a Xbox controller.

I did hear there's a mouse thief running around the GOG community randomly leaving people with Xbox controllers... HMM.

No worries, are you able to access the options menu? There's got to be a way to set it back to mouse. A hotkey or something that escapes me right now...
Do you have an Xbox controller plugged into the machine? If so remove it and then restart w3. A lot of these games automatically detect the controller and setup for that. If you don't, probably settings in game as posted before.
Without having a controller plugged in, as you suggested is your situation, the best I can do is tell you two pieces of advice.

One) Fire up the game, key down to Options, go to Key Bindings and hit "R" for Defaults. If that doesn't work, then we try the Nuke option:

Two) Go to your Documents folder, open Witcher 3 folder, and delete input.settings, user.settings, and user.settings.bak - DO NOT DELETE GAMESAVES

This should revert your Witcher 3 install to default. You WILL have to set video settings again, etc, but this should fix your issue.

I sincerely hope this helps

EDIT: You might want to back up your ini files in the witcher 3 folder before deleting them, I'm pretty reckless and didn't do it though.

Wishbone: Do you have an XBox controller?

hsi05318: i do not have an xbox. i have alweays used pc's.
Whether or not you have an actual XBox is irrelevant. Lots of PC players use XBox controllers for some games these days, and the XBox controller is natively supported in Windows. Lots of PC games support that controller specifically too. Personally, I hate the XBox controller (I much prefer the PS controller layout), but I use a Logitech controller from time to time.

it is very relevant as i am unable to use my mouse correctly. the only option/choice i have is the x-box control. i can not control the witcher with my mouse. i am not sure if you really understand the problem. but thanks for trying to help anyhow

I do understand the problem, trust me, but I don't think you understood my point. That bit wasn't problem solving, it was mostly me arguing semantics. I asked whether you had an XBox controller, and you said you didn't have an XBox. As I tried to explain, lots of PC players use XBox controllers on their PCs. You don't need to have an XBox to have a controller.

But I guess we can conclude from what you say that you probably don't have an XBox controller plugged into your PC, and so we can rule that out as a cause of the problem.
Okay so I did some thinking. I think that you're saying the control options is showing pictures of a controller. This is correct, it shows pictures of a controller. It's been like this since at least the last patch, and there's no way to fix it.

If you are having issues with your mouse and keyboard not handling properly, then you need to set those in key bindings, which is completely and totally separate from controller options, because a keyboard is not a controller.

I also did some digging around, and there's no way to show a keyboard layout with shortcuts on the keyboard like it shows on the xbox controller, at least for me. Wish I had better news. If you need further assistance, you should contact Support.
