Pillars of Eternity
The usual suspects for me as well, probably my most anticipated is Batman: Arkham Knight because contrary to the recent trend of never ending franchises this will be the bookend to the amazing trilogy from Rocksteady that started with Batman: Arkham Asylum and is IMO the absolute best video game series based on a comic book. The game has the potential to be Rocksteady's magnum opus based on their stellar track record.

The next which is almost equally anticipated is none other than The Witcher 3. The first game in the series was the one that finally inspired me to play an RPG and the second one surpassed it in every way. Now the third game is finally poised to garner CD Projekt RED the acclaim and recognition they truly deserve, the likes of which is usually reserved for Bethesda as well as Bioware.

Also the new game in my favorite series Metal Gear Solid, The Phantom Pain is sure to be absolutely incredible from everything I have seen from the game so far. Not to mention arguably the best PC port of a new gen game that has been absolutely fantastic and is really quite extraordinary how well optimized it is. If they can translate the same attention to quality and performance to the complete game that it very well end up being the best MGS game in the series.

Finally, I am eagerly looking forward to GTA V on PC and I hope Rockstar gives it the same attention as they did to the Max Payne 3 port which was really well done. I really don't want another horrible mess like GTA IV which though terrible (because of the plethora of DRM as well) has some awesome mods for it which is the most exciting aspect of getting another GTA game on PC.

From what I've pre-ordered

Pillars of eternity

Was going to pre order tide of Numerna physical collection edition but the paypal method doesn't work in my area somehow. Had contact with supports and they say people from Japan also suffer from the same thing, might be an east asia region thing. And since I don't buy digital games anew, probably won't get it this year.

1 visual novel in January, 1 in March, 1 in April, might be more depend on my wallet.

That's it. I game mainly on intel hd3000 with no internet access so there aren't not that many choices.

AnimalMother117: I am also looking forward to Yoshi, but I don't know quite enough about it to be too pumped and I have too much interest in buying it to put it down as a curiosity. Let's hope Star Fox turns out well, also. I'd really love a new Star Fox.

ReynardFox: Knowing Wooly World takes it's mechanics from Yoshi's Island, one of the best platformers ever made, while being developed by Good Feel (Who made the extremely charming Kirby's Epic Yarn) gives me plenty of faith in the project.

Plus have you seen the trailers? That art style... It's a game I just want to wrap my arms around and squeeze.
While it undeniably does look like a really good game it is kinda hard for me to get terribly excited for a 2d platformer before launch, particularly if it's on a home console. It might be easier as we get closer to release.

Reever: Do we know if it's coming to GOG yet?
avatar
Coelocanth: No idea. One can hope though.
The devs want to publish it on GOG too. I posted the most important updates in The Mandate thread, take a look if you're interested.

I'm very tempted, but there's still time to back it.
What will actually happen:
Pillars of Eternity

What wont happen:
Half-Life 3/Episode 3/ any Valve game with a number 3

What might happen:
GTA V Linux... not betting on it, but t'would be great

The Witcher 3 and Hatred, the only two games I'm buying this year. :p
Guess i'll make a rather pretentious hoped for games... All the Gamecube, PS2, Xbox, 360, and PS3 games to have native executable for PC so it takes proper advantage of hardware and doesn't have to run through emulators... Naturally you could still get ahold of the disc through ebay (or other sources) so you don't need huge downloads in order to get the game(s) running. Sorta the project Microsoft had for backwards compatibility from the Xbox to the 360 until they cut it short, except going to PC it probably wouldn't lose relevancy once the console generation moved on...

Ooh, I am glad I saw this post! I had no idea Cyan was making a new game!
Over the years I have been getting used to just assume that everything is a Steam-exclusive until proven otherwise, so no point in anticipating anything and just be glad if something interesting gets released on GOG.

If not, then at least I might manage to try out a few games from my backlog, so either way I have no need to even consider playing any DRM-infected games if can't first get them future-proofed properly.

I admit, it does look excellent and Yoshi's Island is amazing as well as Kirby's Epic Yarn. Maybe closer to release I'll get more excited.
Edit: My bad. I forgot I already did a reply. Sorry.

That does make it hard to look forward to PC games, doesn't it. That's primarily why the only thing like that for me is Witcher.

Faith: Way of the Samurai 4

Attila Total War
Age of Wonder 3 Expansion

Higurashi When They Cry Remake

AnimalMother117: Those sound interesting as well. Although, I haven't trusted the Creative Assembly for quite some time.
Yeah, since their Rome II "accident" I always take a great caution for their new launch game.
Sadly, because they have a great concept after all but failed at quality assurance --- typical AAA developer nowadays.
Does this include stuff in early access? That other Gollop related thread reminded me of
Chaos: Reborn!

And the Early Access reviews are 'very positive' too! Good, good!

Oh and The Next Car Game: Wreckfest (aka the REAL FlatOut 3)

Satellite Reign and the Grim Fandango and DOTT remakes. Those are the only games coming out this year that I will likely consider purchasing this year.
