and for the topic I have stelaris here sadly
while steam stelaris has steam workshop and many mods are only available there, the creators are too lazy to upload them to other mod sites or those mod sites dont offer enough resources for the mod as it needs gb-s of space now

would be awesome if there would be some automatic sync from steam workshop to other mod databases

GeraltOfRivia_PL: I live in Poland, and most of my friends have never heard of GOG. And we are from the country that GOG is from.
It surprises me, I would have expected most people in Poland to support a Polish company, especially one that is more consumer friendly.

there are many ways of downloading mods from the workshop without using steam. Steamworkshopdownloader is easy enough :
https://steamworkshopdownloader.io/

idbeholdME: As for the stealing topic, I also used to encounter something similar when talking on Steam game subforums. There is a little icon showing whether or not you own the game on Steam. Some people like calling you out for not having played the game (because Steam is the only place where you can get games in their mind). Luckily, that seems to be disappearing. Haven't had that happen in a while now.
I think we can thank the competition of Epic and their endless giveaways for the heightened awareness that there is indeed a PC gaming world outside Steam...
It's not only on Steam directly (I don't have a Steam account anyway) where accusations of piracy happened, but also on other forums or social media (fb, reddit). But it hasn't happened in a long while now at least to me.

(Best time was when someone absolutely wouldn't believe me that Half-Life has once been available on disk... and Steam didn't even exist back then...).
Clearly some think DRM-Free is bad for the Game Industry, while those really in the know, know it is better. Most people seem to fall for the propaganda ... you see that everywhere and not just in gaming.

Despite all the piracy of media that existed well before GOG did, and since they existed, Media industries are somehow thriving. It beggars belief what they take into account and what they don't ... very selective they are for their agenda.
