It's no secret that Kingdom Come: Deliverance, the sprawling medieval RPG that's giving lovers of open-world gameplay many a sleepless night, is amenable to modding. To illustrate that point, Terrorfox1234 of Nexus Mods put together a comprehensive list of some of the most useful or interesting ones. Take it away, Terrorfox1234!

Kingdom Come: Deliverance has already seen a wealth of mods uploaded to Nexus Mods. Considering the fact the Warhorse Studios hasn't released any official modding tools, the sheer amount of mods uploaded so far is quite impressive!

So, once again, we wanted to put together a list for all of you containing some of the most useful and interesting releases so far.
(Do note that none of these are considered "essential")

Mod Merger - This tool, simply put, detects conflicts in your mods and resolves them. This will be necessary if you are looking to use 2 mods that edit different aspects of the same file(s). (There is also PIKE which aims to be a merging utility and mod manager)

Optimized Graphics Presets - This mod is a selection of config files aimed at improving performance. It's hit or miss, but I wanted to include it as some people have experienced a noticeable gain in FPS.

Freezes and Stuttering Fix - This mod eliminates micro-freezes and stuttering by preventing KCD from hitting 100% load on any CPU core… or some such magic. I don't claim to fully understand it but the overwhelmingly positive response seems to speak for itself.

Anti Alcoholism - Remove the alcoholism debuff. There is a bug in-game which results in being unable to cure alcoholism (although, one might argue for realism there). This mod provides a workaround.

Unlimited Saving - This mod simply removes the Saviour Schnapps use requirement for saving.

Autowalker - Make your way across the countryside without having to hold "W". Use hotkeys to speed up or slow down your pace. Works on horseback as well. Nice.

Easy To See Herbs - A subtle visual overhaul for herbs to make them easier to spot without necessarily making them overly bright or colorful.

Colored Arrow Feathers - Tired of losing your arrows in the underbrush? This mod can help!

Inventory Sorter / A Sorted Inventory - These mods aim to make inventory navigation and item searching easier by applying naming conventions to items. Choose whichever one suits your preference.

More Perks / Perkaholic / KCD Uncut - The first makes additions/changes/fixes to all the vanilla perks/skill lines. The second adds perks to the Agility, Unarmed, and Bow skills. The third restores skill lines for Shields and Hellebardes.

Now that we've reached the end of this list; there are a few types of mods that I didn't touch on that I'd like to make note of.

I generally stayed away from mods that add/alter/remove gameplay mechanics, item stats, or character stats. There's a ton of mods that do similar things or offer highly subjective takes on what the best approach to balancing realism and fun is. I also didn't touch any User Interface (UI/HUD) mods. Again, there a lot of mods in this category that have crossover in functionality or do the exact same thing in different ways.

Given the volume, variety, and subjectivity of those types of mods; I thought it better to simply link to the categories on Nexus Mods and let you dig through yourselves.

We hope this list is of some use to you and don't hesitate to let us know if we missed anything in the comments!

Happy modding!

Always glad to see a healthy mod secen for a game.
In this case I've been pretty conent playing the unmodded game, have been lucky and not encountered the tech issues that many others have described but hopefully those mods will help some players have a better exprience :)

The rest look mostly like a prefrence thing to me (For example I actually find the save system in the base game more rewarding than many other "save at whim" RPGs I've played, but I know some people will adore having access to the save mod). Of those currently on the list I think the one I may end up using is Autowalker, seems like I'd enjoy having that.

Thanks for the mod spotlight GOG and cheers to the Devs for not running a game that tries to box out modding (as more and more titles seem to do of late).

It's no coincidence that most of my favourite RPG's also have very active modding communities, some of them still going strong even a decade or more after games were initially released.

That there are already a plethora of mods for KC:D, and of such a wide variety, really bodes well for the future as far as I'm concerned. There's nothing I like better than playing through a game a few times, then returning a year or two later and enjoying a completely fresh experience thanks to the amazing efforts of modders.
Mods are great and all but this kinda tells me that the devs just didn't bother with proper beta testing, they rushed the game out, their god awful engine doesn't like anything above 30fps, not to mention worse optimization then I dunno... what's the worst optimized game before this? etc.

This is already looking like another Oblivion/Skyrim/Fallout3or4orNV scenario where they make a big game with a buttload of bugs, and just say 'the community will fix it for us and we'll do our best to put in little to no effort'.

Sorry I'm tired. I'll be nice and give this the benefit of the doubt for let's say 3 months. If they can't fix anything by then well, my statement will resound.

Personally I have no interest in Kingdom Come: Deliverance whatsoever, but I wanted to leave some positive feedback on the Mod Spotlight. A list of good, working mods right to my doorstep is something I can always appreciate. :)

(I will also archive this article in case any of my friends gets suddenly interested in this game.)

I said exactly as much and then fanboys argued with me about this and then i retaliated and I got banned. So watch out. Seems like your not supposed to say negative things about their game on their forums. You get banned.
Oh by the way, all the fanboys still active, only me got banned. So even though they started it first for saying nasty things, i am the one who got banned for saying nasty stuff back. Now i have no problem being banned because i did respond as well but they should have been banned as well, and was not. So the devs clearly try their best to defend their game and banning people who say bad things about their game. Oh and afterwards when i think about it, it feels like i was goated so that there was reason to ban me. So watch out what you say about their game.

You preach water while drinking wine! All this mods changing game mechanics. The game is good as it is. If someone needs a mod because he/she dont like the realism and risk of geting killed by bandits while underway in the woods he/she should go back to Skyrim. I like the thrill to fight for my life because i had not saved in the last 30 Minutes and dont want to risk alcoholism by trinking Savior Schnaps every few minutes. Ist perfectly normal to loose some Arrows in the woods and spotting herbs isnt difficult at all when you look closely, no need to make it visible while racing through the game. And the last one is exactly that what you said you stayed away. Shame on you for fooling yourself!

Lucky for us it isn't up to you then. If you don't like it, don't download it. That's how simple it is, and no need to "shame" him/her. And with that out of the way. Good list, finally finished the game myself although from steam (sorry gog, i couldn't wait, waited enough years). And ive been keeping track on the nexus to check what comes up and so. Im just gonna tell people who want mods, to keep track of the big Game of Thrones mod in the works if you didn't already know about it.

Everyone can do what he/she like, but dont say you would never use mods that change the game mechanics and then make a list of mods that indeed change gamemechanics. Thats truly shamefull, its like telling someone you would not take drugs and then make a list about the best drugs you ever tried. Thats all I am talking about not the mods self, they are good but not needed, and because this is a forum I should be allowed to clear out why i think this. Peace to the hand.

Or, prehaps, some people don't have time to play more than 20-40 minutes a day and saving system that works fine only for people doing several hour sessions to play is a *bit* stupid. Not to mention crashes.

Ok, just for me, Game crashed never once, since i started (yes lucky me), used only 3 Saviors in >50 hours, saving works in every tavern and cost you only 2 Groschen, my savegames are mostly between 20 and 40 minutes, almost everytime you start a quest it saves automaticly, yes it is stupid that it dont save by ending the game but it is manageable without being able to save every minute.Like i said everyone can do as he/she want, cheat, use a trainer or if you have no time at all, watch a Lets play, then you even can eat while playing ;-) Dosent bother me at all :-) But by that, dont be angry or cry when your moded savegames backfire to you with crashes.
This tiny change alone does wonders and further adds to the 'shitty optimization' argument:

sys_main_CPU = 0
sys_physics_CPU = 2
sys_streaming_CPU = 4

r_MotionBlur = 0
r_DepthOfFieldMode = 0
r_Sharpening = 0

r_TexturesStreamPoolSize = 10240
e_ShadowsPoolSize = 4096

This is all I Have in my .cfg file at the moment and it's unbelievable just how much performance has improved. The devs even had the nerve to say 'this game wasn't meant for current GPUs'... seriously? Anyway, that's my mod for now.

edit: removed vysnc and maxfps configs as the game seems to have weird stutters. Just using adaptive vsync in Nvidia control panel fixes it for the most part, however this game seems to think 60fps is sometimes 62fps.

micktiegs_8: 'this game wasn't meant for current GPUs'
Wasn't this in development for like 5 years or something? Perhaps it was meant for the 8800 GT.

I think in reality, the devs just don't have a very tight grip on the tech. It's okay to admit that "We're working on it. If anyone finds anything, let us know."

The gaming community is putting this together pretty good.

You make it sound like it's a bad thing. But IMO it's not; it's a great thing. That's like the antithesis of the Witcher 3 devs' insidious action of vastly downgrading that game's graphics in order to accommodate crappy console hardware. Good on the KCD devs for not downgrading anything for crappy hardware, even if crappy hardware encompasses the entire current generation of GPUs.
I will wait for patch 1.3 to see if I need any mods, though I am looking forward to more complex mods in the future anyway (like the Game of Thrones one). I hope the game will get some nice mod manager. It can be incredibly useful tool for games that are highly moddable.
