There’s nothing like an engaging narrative to keep us on the edge of our seats. That’s why the latest Midweek Sale on GOG.COM is dedicated to DRM-free titles with some of the best stories up to 83% off. Here are a few of them:

Broken Sword: Director's Cut (-50%) is a classic hand-drawn adventure game. As the American George Stobbart, you must unlock the legend of the Knights Templar in Paris.

Call of Cthulhu: Prisoner of Ice (-66%) is a classic point-and-click adventure based on the twisted writings of H.P. Lovecraft. Visit 150 settings on your journey through untold horror!

Grim Dawn (-80%) is an action-RPG title in which you enter an apocalyptic world where humanity is on the brink of extinction, iron is valued above gold, and trust is hard-earned.

Take part in more fascinating stories! This Midweek Sale on GOG.COM will end on 5th September 2020, 1 PM UTC.
Grim Dawn has a horrible story. Even to call it a story in the first place is quite a stretch.
YIIK? Gone Home? Blood 2?

GOG are you taking the piss?
How is Blood 2? Never played that series.
This sale seems a bit...confusing.

Dray2k: Why is Star Control 2 not on sale? Literally the o̶n̶l̶y̶ greatest story ever written for a video game.

Robette: I unironically finished that game.

Dray2k: How is it?
It's OK, I would say. The criticism is a bit over the top, but some aspects of the game come of as arrogant, given the games is more in the 7/10 range (while trying to be some sort of indie Mother/Earthbound) and it's just not on that level. The balancing is not ideal. Most of your characters just won't do too much damage and you can neither overlevel, nor get much better equipment. Dungeons are a bit simplistic but display some variance.

Overall, you can dodge some of the aspects people complain about (combat system, balancing) by turning your MC into a bit of a glass cannon (not even that fragile). Really ramp up STR and EP, spend your money on stuff to refill EP and crush everything with EP Strike, if I remember correctly.

I don't know if the story in Tacoma is good. Gone Home has a meh story if you care to understand it, but you can just rush through the game without reading any of it. It's small family stories that add up and, and the most promising tracks are not explored further.
Ghost of a Tale legit.
Distraint simplistic but at least a coherent story that makes sense. No Pulitzer material.
Those Call of Cthulhu games have a very poor story and dialogue.
I like themed sales, but sometimes they don't make sense. Do they have to come up with a common theme looking at available games? It does not sound like the games are picked up. Rather, this is what is randomly on sale and we try to find something they have in common. Oh, look, the description says that there is a plot!

Maybe the sale announce should just be a word cloud taken from the games that are on sales product page? Though given the usual PR crap that those contain I'm sure it would be just as misleading.

that's a very interesting idea. I can see Steam implementing something like this but not GOG. It would be great to have tags from users matter.

I would say its story is ok.
But I notice again and again, that these "walking (or floating) simulators" are simply not my thing.
