Bouchart: It's a social networking site aimed towards business professionals and job searches.
Same. I've used Monster extensively in the past. Whenever I make my resume publicly available, I get spammed with phone calls and emails for life insurance salesmen jobs, all sorts of scams, and men named "John" with the world's thickest Indian accents.
I haven't used Linkedin that much (not enough experience or education to make much use of it) but I think there's in-built system where it promotes healthy corporate culture through transparency, if you are contacted by someone you can see their real name, who they work for and who they worked for in the past minimizing scams and non-professionals.
qwixter: I bet. I have never posted one online. When I have used head hunters in the past, they would spam me with every possibility. All they want is to put people in front of the employer for a chance at that commission. Now imagine every headhunter has access to your resume which is what posting online does.
Head hunters gets a one time commission? That's stupid. They should receieve small royalties as long as their clients are employed, promoting that their effort are sincere and to find a place where their client will fit in.
