How many people remember Red Storm Rising?
I still own the manual, but lost Technical Supplement and Keyboard Overlay, so as the disk.
Have to download it somewhere else to re-enjoy the game thus...
And it is the time to read the book again...

Radiance1979: never played the 2d but i did had equal fun in both 1 and 3... never finished them either , the last stand became a bit to much for my measer skillset ;)

I'm hoping on this microsoft revival and in particular 2d front to help me get over that hangover so i can feel like a man again

Microprose!!!!
Good to hear! I think I'll take a look at all three and then decide which one I'd like to play first. Btw I hear joysticks help out a lot in space sims, I don't have any now but you might consider using one if you haven't? It could help you improve! ;D

thnx for the tip though.. in time this pc will develop its self into the ultimate gaming apparatus

Yeah I heard Freelancer is a good game! Personally I don't own a flight stick at the moment either. :)

Don't worry. Freelancer was designed to be mouse optimized. It is one of those sims that are best and more comfortable played with the mouse at diference of others space sims. The response times and sensibility is better with a mouse in this game.

this reminded me to add my wish to freelancer for gog!

Still with 2 joysticks playing a game such as mechwarrior would be ultra insane ( i guess ) and maybe also just like it should be

I have wishlisted it too. Though I have it running perfectly from my original copy from scratch. Fortunately my copy was one version gifted by a pc magazine and it lacks any DRM or cd copy protection.

The game runs flawesly even today. And the gameplay and scale keeps showing a fresh game, It should be a real gem to be added in GOG. It would be a blast, indeed.

I have a hacked version lying around.... i did own the original too btw... ever since privateer 2 i can call myself a follower of space opera combat adventures but sometimes circumstance forces you to take a look at the dark part of the web to get in possesion of working versions of stuff you like.... i hate that btw.. will take a legal version over a hacked one any day... but what are you supposed to do, such as in the case of a game as Rome II that legally works like shit on your system but with the hacked version you have acces to the pearl you once fell in love with ...

with a broken heart and a little sigh " let i go of course you stupid"
