Hi,

I just bought the game for the PC, playing with the Xbox one Controller.
But there is a few controls/buttons layout I dont like and you cannot change them in the game.

Example; You can First Person View by doing / pressing on the 3 stripes in the middle of controller. But if you wanna raise your gun and aim you need holding this " 3 stripes button '' and holding the "Y" button to aim.

I would like to see go in First Person view by pressing the Right thumbstick, once and pressing again to exit.

Is this possible to remapp with an programm or something?

Love to hear!

I don't have it, but try reading this:

As far as I know, since you have an Xbox One controller(or any Microsoft controller), the best way to remap it, or create personalized profiles, is by using Microsoft's own application.

Go to the game collection, right mouse click on MGS2 -> Additional executables -> Game Settings. In opened window, choose OPTION. A new window will open where you can find the "KEY config" tab which allows you to configure your controller.
Although I can't configure some buttons like LT or RT. Any suggestions?

EDIT: Triggers are not supported. What a shame.

Well, yeah. MGS2 was made before triggers really existed; and the idea of a controller with analogue button sensors was...less than existent. At best, you had a analogue throttle switch or pedals. Which aren't quite the same. Xinput didn't exist yet.
I know this thread is probably a bit too old to be of assistance to the OP but I ran into this same issue and found a solution that worked for me.

Downloading the program xinput plus gives the ability to take the triggers from the z axis and put them into buttons. You can also set a button to toggle making it easer to go into first person mode.

Make the target program for xinput to be
\Program Files (x86)\GOG games\Metal Gear Solid 2 Substance\bin\mgs2_sse.exe

Go to the DirectInput tab, click Enable, then swap LT/RT to button 11/12. While in here you can also go to the hold tab in buttons and setup a button to toggle if you want for the first person view. After that just hit the 3 bars in the top right and click apply to target.

Next step is to go into the config menu for the game and set it up as you like. I change abxy to be their corresponding buttons on my controller, I set R1 and L1 to the triggers, start and back get setup to they corresponding buttons, and I set R2 to my left thumbstick button (I set this to toggle in xinput). With this all being done the control scheme now feels very similar to how it did for the stupid amount of hours I put into this game on the original Xbox. Just dont forget to change the controls in both the regular and first person view key configs.

Hope this helps save someone some time down the road
