Sorry if people think I'm pimping Steam AGAIN but I was just browsing the 'upcoming' section and saw this:
http://store.steampowered.com/app/363440/
I think they've done similar packs on PS3 in the past but it's pretty cool to see the original Mega Man games come to PC for the first time (Yeah, let's not talk about that weird port of the first one that the PC got...)
I'm pretty stoked TBH!
Nice thread ! +1

They try to build hype for Mighty No. 9. Glad to see this Megaman collection on PC.

I'd love to buy that. But alas, it's one of the games CAPCOM doesn't want to sell in Japan >_<

Man that sucks, plus region locking put another nail in the coffin of chances of it coming to GOG!
So this whole thing of Japanese publishers not wanting to sell their titles in Japan - is the PC still seen as a bit of an Anime porn platform over there? Is that what the main issue is?

Fever_Discordia: Snip
There's many reasons. With this one it's apparently down to the console versions not releasing in Japan until some time in the winter. We *may* see a PC release once those are out. Which is basically what's happening with the new Street Fighter too.

It may sound strange, but Capcom are now one of the bigger supports of PC gaming in Japan. At least they (eventually) sell their games (at a far higher price) in Japan. Something Bandai Namco would be wise to copy.

For the record, Valve released some figures at the last Bit Summit which show that PC gaming in Japan isn't a super niche hobby at all. Despite having the largest number of regional restrictions, purchases made on Steam in Japan have placed Japan in the top 10 countries for Steam revenue (from customers).

Also, over 10% of the 100 top sellers on Steam are from Japanese publishers/developers. If they supported Japan the same way they supported ROW, imaging how much higher that could be!
Depending on how the port is handled, I'll probably pick it up when it's on sale.
I hope that the collection includes a reworked Wily Wars. Probably not, but hope springs eternal.

It doesn't. The whole point of the collection is to be as faithful to the originals as possible. They basically want it to be like a "Critereon Collection" for video games. If that makes any sense.

I'm curious to see how the game will turn out. I know GOG won't get it, because that'd be too easy, but if the port's good, I would be more than happy to plunk down the cash for this.

Never played any of these, shame they won't be come here.
