Well it's all right, even when push comes to shove
Well it's all right, if you got someone to love
Well it's all right, everything'll work out fine
Well it's all right, we're going to the end of the line
I’m out here a thousand miles from my home
Walkin’ a road other men have gone down
I’m seein’ your world of people and things
Your paupers and peasants and princes and kings

Hey, hey, Woody Guthrie, I wrote you a song
’Bout a funny ol’ world that’s a-comin’ along
Seems sick an’ it’s hungry, it’s tired an’ it’s torn
It looks like it’s a-dyin’ an’ it’s hardly been born

Hey, Woody Guthrie, but I know that you know
All the things that I’m a-sayin’ an’ a-many times more
I’m a-singin’ you the song, but I can’t sing enough
’Cause there’s not many men that done the things that you’ve done

Here’s to Cisco an’ Sonny an’ Leadbelly too
An’ to all the good people that traveled with you
Here’s to the hearts and the hands of the men
That come with the dust and are gone with the wind

I’m a-leavin’ tomorrow, but I could leave today
Somewhere down the road someday
The very last thing that I’d want to do
Is to say I’ve been hittin’ some hard travelin’ too
"Lambert, Lambert -- what a prick."
[Darth Vader]
Now and then I think of when I was in power
Like choking people with the Force until they died
But then you told them all my history
And took away my masculinity
And had my character portrayed by sub-par actors

You are now addicted to an overuse of graphics
And making Greedo shoot first? Han shot first
So when you tried to have the Force make sense
You introduced the midichlorians
And what's the deal with having me be dubbed over (Noooooooooo!)

But you didn't have to change it all
Make 'em like they never happened and the fans are nothing
I don't even need your love
But you treat me like a Bantha and that feels so rough
No you didn't have to make them blow
Have your friends direct your movies and they'll turn out better
You think that you don't need them though
What happened to the Star Wars that I used to know

What happened to the Star Wars that I used to know
What happened to the Star Wars that I used to know

[George Lucas]
Now and then I think of all the times I screwed fans over
I had them believing that the first three films were really done
But Star Wars will be done my way
I don't care what you have to say
I think that they should let it go
And they'll never get the Blu-Ray of the Star Wars that you used to know

[Darth Vader]
You didn't have to change it all
No more puppets, no more practical effects or nothing
I don't even need your love
But you treat me like a wampa and that feels so cold
No you didn't have to sell your soul
Do we really need to watch them all again in 3D?
Jar Jar was an all time low
What happened to the Star Wars that I used to know

[x2]
The movies
(I used to know)
The movies
(What happened to the Star Wars that I used to know)

(I used to know)
(That I used to know)
(I used to know)
(That I used to know)

I was singing that song this morning doing dishes in my kitchen. Tonight doing dishes I was singing this:

I was punching in the numbers at the ATM machine
I could see in the reflection
A face staring back at me
At the moment of surrender
Of vision over visibility
I did not notice the passers-by
And they did not notice me

I was speeding on the subway
Through the stations of the cross
Every eye looking every other way
Counting down 'til the pentecost

At the moment of surrender
Of vision of over visibility
I did not notice the passers-by
And they did not notice me
I close my eyes and count to ten
And when I open them you're still here
I close my eyes and count again
I can't believe it but you're still here
Sleep don't visit, so I choke on sun
And the days blur into one.
And the backs of my eyes hum with things I've never done.
Sheets are swaying from an old clothesline
Like a row of captured ghosts.
Our old, dead grass
Was never much but we made the most.
Welcome home.
Ships are launching from my chest.
Some have names but most do not.
If you find one, please let me know what piece I've lost.
Peel the scars from off my back,
I don't need them anymore.
You can throw them out or keep them in your mason jars.
I've come home.
All my nightmares escaped my head;
Bar the door, please don't let them in.
You were never supposed to leave.
Now my head's splitting at the seams.
And I don't know if I can...
Here, beneath my lungs,
I feel your thumbs press into my skin again.
Welcome to the party
Come on in and disappear
You're feeling like a stranger
But all your friends are here
Little lines and cracks
Around your eyes and mouth
Something's trying to get in
Something's trying to get out
It's OK, to be a little broken
Everybody's broken, in this life
It's OK, to feel a little broken
Everybody's broken, you're alright
It's just life
Step into the deep end
Make yourself at home
When you wonder why you're breathing
Know you're not alone
It's so hard to believe
It's easier to doubt
You're trying to hold in
But you're dying to scream out
It's OK to be a little broken
Everybody's broken
In this life
It's OK to feel a little broken
Everybody's broken, you're alright
It's alright, it's just life
Take a look around
Tell me what you see
Is who you think you are
Who you want to be
It's OK, to be a little broken
Everybody's broken, in this life
It's OK, to feel a little broken
Everybody's broken, you're alright
Just keep on going
Eyes wide open
Everybody's broken
Everybody's broken
Everybody's broken
Everybody's broken
Everybody's broken
Everybody's broken
Yeah
Weary sun, sleep tonight, go crashing into the ocean
Cut the line that ties the tide and moon, ancient and blue
We take our empty hearts and fill them up with broken things
To hang on humming wire like cheap lamps down a dead end street
Close your weary eyes until the wintertime

And every time we turn away it hits me like a tidal wave
I would change for you but, babe, that doesn't mean I'm gonna be a better man
Give the ocean what I took from you so one day you could find it in the sand
And hold it in your hands again

Cold ways kill cool lovers
Strange ways we used each other
Why won't you fall back in love with me?
There ain't no way we're gonna find another
The way we sleep all summer
So why won't you fall back in love with me?
