hudfreegamer: Updated rules:

Make Max Payne 2 run in widescreen without stretching (correct aspect ratio) and win:
$̶2̶0̶, $25 worth of GOG games or $25 in bitcoin (winner's choice).

Rules:
1. Must be a permanent fix for the game. May use 3rd party software to apply patch (like a hex editor), but must not require extra software to run in widescreen such as downscaling software / trainer or a memory hack like thirteenag's widescreen fix / asi loader:
http://thirteenag.github.io/widescreen_fixes_pack

2. Must be able to apply without internet connection.

3. Must support 16x9 and 16x10 resolutions (if you can properly support any custom resolution, you win an extra $10).

4. Must work in Windows XP and later Oses.

5. Must work on Nvidia and ATI / AMD video cards.

6. Must support hardware and software rendering.

7. Must support Retail version (1.01) and steam version as well as -developer command line tag.

8. Must work with other Max Payne 2 mods (mp2m files), especially my no hud mod:
http://hudfreegaming.wikia.com/wiki/Max_Payne_2
Well, I guess that one is impossible to achive right now.
Why? Because the fact that somebody DID MAKE an "external" widescreen fix is a good indicator that this isn´t most likely to be possible right out of the box!

BTW: Point 6 looks really stupid to me! Why the hell should anybody be interested in running the game in software rendering?!

I found the source code for ThirteenAG's widescreen fix. Maybe it can help someone figure out a permanent solution since that fix doesn't work for me.

https://github.com/ThirteenAG/Widescreen_Fixes_Pack/tree/master/MP2_widescreen_fix

I also tried a hex edit of the e2mfc.dll file. I found values for two floating point numbers close to each other, 3.0 and 4.0 (i.e. 4x3 resolution). Sadly, editing the values had no effect.
Have you tried to contact the author? Maybe he could help you with the editing. ^^
I increased the prize for Max Payne 2 from $25 to $30.
I increased the prize for Max Payne 1 from $10 to $15.
I increased the bonus prize if you can add support for any custom resolution and aspect ratio from $10 to $15.

Now a prize can be any combination of GOG games, bitcoin, or money via paypal.

Ok, no takers yet.

i've increased the prize from $30 to $40.

If you think you can figure it out, give it a shot.
No one has come up with a solution yet.

So, I've increased the prize to $50.

As an incentive to figure this out sooner, If you post a working solution by February 14 (Valentine's Day), the winner will get double the prize (that's $100).
Even if you can't figure it out, if someone recommends something that helps me figure out a solution, you'll get a prize of $15.

That's because what you are asking for does not exist, as has been demonstrated pretty well in this thread.

To win your prize, someone would have to make from scratch the thing you ask for. And, since others who want similar solutions seem to be happy with the solutions that do exist, I doubt you're going to get your own private programmer to cater to you quite narrow specs.

I suggest you adjust your desires toward reality, even if only incrementally.

Cheers

Aye!
or send the guy who does this Max Payne 2 and the prize fund and he'll most likely sort it: http://www.flawlesswidescreen.org/
