Me too.

monkeydelarge: Is the latest Dragon Age game as good as the first one? After the second Dragon Age game, I don't trust Bioware anymore.

GR00T: From what I've read, it's got an MMO feel to it. The main quest seems to be well reviewed, but the side quests are generally reported to be standard MMO 'kill X amount of this', 'bring me Y amount of that' type of things. Still, most of the reiews I've read are generally positive. But I'd certainly wait for good a discounted price.
My brother told me the exact same thing after finishing it: good main quests, boring mmo-like side quests.
However even if you only do the main quests it still seems like a long-enough game.

bad_fur_day1: I stopped caring about Mass Effect after they turned it into a third person shooter.

R8V9F5A2: After my disappointment with ME2 and lack of interest with Dragon Age I have hardly been a fan of BioWare.

bad_fur_day1: From a gamer to another gamer, give Dragon Age another shot, it gets much better after a really slow start. Easily up there with Bioware's best games like Baldur's Gate.

I was equally uninterested at the beginning, then Morrigan joined my team, she's absolutely aweful but still really likable somehow. The whole game opens up with hundreds of quests. I got chewed on by a gigantic dragon yesterday, good times. Stick with it.
I did play Dragon Age for 5-10 hours but simply lost interest with it. It didn't really do anything for me.
I have never been a big fan of third-person RPGs though, I prefer the first person and isometric stuff.
That probably has something to do with it.

Wishbone: I feel kind of the same way. After seeing how massively they fucked up ME2, I gave up the series.
It was strange to me that so many people were quick to praise and celebrate the drastic simplification of the first Mass Effect game into something plain and depthless.

Emob78: But after all, they are just virtual puppets dancing around in a simulated reality video game, so who gives a damn. If you go to an actual puppet show, do you get emotionally upset when the puppets start yelling and hitting each other? If so, you might want to invest some cash into a good therapist.
Uhm, no. First of all, I don't go to puppet shows, I'm 38. As for the actual meaning of your question, "why care about anything that isn't real", if we didn't care, we wouldn't play the damn games. I don't know about you, but I don't pay lots of money and invest lots of time into things I generally don't give a rat's ass about. If you do, I suggest you invest some cash into a good therapist.

Passive-aggressive banter aside, the point is that if I want to play a dating simulator, I'll go and buy a dating simulator. If I want to play an epic sci-fi RPG, I'll go buy one of those. If I then find out that a central part of the game is actually a dating simulator, I'm going to feel somewhat ripped off, as that wasn't what I paid for.

Of course we care. But as adults we should have a learned ability to filter fantasy from reality and be able to make moral decisions based on what we know as the difference between the two. I was referring more to the bronies and cosplay types that attempt to live inside the virtual worlds of cartoons, anime, or video games. You know, people who CAN'T distinguish between the two.

However, if you feel the need to defend delusional retards like those adult man-children in Pokemon costumes, feel free. Funny how quickly you came to the rescue of people suffering from a total lack of self-awareness or appreciation for self-deprecation. If the over-sized Mario Bros' shoe fits...

I have absolutely no clue what you're talking about. Nada. Zero. Whatever the hell you saw in any of my posts to prompt that response isn't anything I put in there.
I could not care less.

My impression (wrong or right) is that ME is another AAA DRM-laden offering from a "big name" studio.

I won't support those types of releases with my money.

I don't care

Passive aggressive, borderline hostile, delusional AND in self-denial. Noted.

DaCostaBR: http://www.gameinformer.com/b/news/archive/2015/12/28/mass-effect-andromeda-39-s-senior-development-director-departs-from-bioware.aspx

We don't know if he left or was fired, but this doesn't bode well for the new Mass Effect game.

Personally, I've stopped caring about Bioware games for a while, tough to believe since it was their games that got me into the WRPG genre in the first place. Still, a good game is always welcome, and if Andromeda did turn out good, I might be a little skeptical, but I'd probably check it out eventually.

Do you have high hopes for the next Mass Effect? Or have you lost faith in Bioware?
I've probably wasted waaaaay too much of everyone's time explaining how I feel about Mass Effect in general, so I won't go into details again, aside to say that I was never hyped for another Mass Effect game after 2 and 3 to begin with, so this really doesn't effect me in any way to begin with. I was never going to be a preorderer anyway, and it's highly likely I'd pick it up for anything other than a STEEP STEEP discount after all the DLC came together.

As for Bioware itself? They're not the same people making the same good games anymore, so it's hard for me to hold them to ANY standards anymore. We'll just say I'm not a fan of their new guys and leave it at that.

Boy, you sure are a piece of work. I'm done talking to you. You obviously live in a hallucinatory universe of your own.
