A long time ago in another universe, there was Earth. Blue oceans, bluer skies, and lots of desert. Desert upon which humans have built skyscrapers of concrete and glass. But one region in particular was built not with modern technology, not with those noisy cranes, and not with iron and steel, but with stone bricks, put down by the hands of people who didn't know any better, technologically speaking that is.

It was Egypt. But right where the Giza Pyramids would've been, a grand old castle stood. It was where the King and Queen of the land would rule the land - at the time anyway. The Castle enjoyed the longevity of the pyramids (as if the land was blessed in every instance of the Earth), but perhaps most importantly, it was designed for living. Extravagantly living, rather. The place would be an instant tourist spot should the royalty wish to leave it. This never crossed Queen Hoda al Shams's mind. But she was interested in other things. Specifically, what bothered her at that moment was a letter she had just gotten. Usually she got letters from all sorts of people in or outside the country, and she had this ability to tell when she would expect a letter to arrive. Her ability failed her this time. It bothered her greatly, and she hurriedly tore the envelope open to see a handwritten letter - that was rare in the age of computers and printers.

"To Your Highness,

We will take you off the Golden Seat. We'll also take your head off. We're already part of your new set of personal guards - but we won't tell you, that's your job to figure it out.

Thanks for privately executing the King, by the way. We appreciate the gift.

With regards,
Rebel Guards."

The queen, extremely pissed off, almost tore the letter in half, were it not for the fact that she just needed her right hand man to see it. "AYBAK!!" She screamed at the top of her lungs. A man with a sword strapped to his belt appeared in front of her in seconds.

"Yes, Your Highness?" He bowed to her. His smile wasn't really great at hiding his nervousness from the way she called him. In his mind, it usually meant he messed up, and would receive a mouthful of all sorts of foul insults.

"Who are the fucking imbeciles who wrote this piece of shit!?" She got up and angrily gave him the letter. He read it, with his forced smile quickly turning into a frown. Terror grasped his very being. The new set of personal guards? He had hired them himself!

Queen Hoda's face turned into that of satisfaction upon seeing Aybak's alarmed face. "It's been so long since I last reprimanded you, habibi. What was last time about anyway? Oh, it doesn't matter. This time however? It's an achievement, I must say."

"Your Highness, I made sure-"

"Shut your trap you moron!" Her face quickly contorted into pristine anger. "Excuses excuses excuses! You know you fucking messed up, you imbecile!" Aybak al Ameen stood there, not saying another word. Once started, she couldn't be stopped. He should know better - his entire job, nay, his entire life's purpose, was staying with Queen Hoda at all times. "Bring all the guards here! Haul your slow ass and get them all here!"

While any onlookers would be scratching their heads at the thought of bringing her would-be murderers to her throne room, Aybak didn't question it. In fact, he already knew the answer. She was a prideful lady.

And the rebel scum he had hired had successfully exploited her overflowing pride. And again, she couldn't be stopped. Attempting to stop her would be considered high treason, after all.

Hello, ladies and gentlemen.

This is a signup thread for a game of Forum Mafia. If you're new to Forum Mafia in any shape or form, worry not for we will bring you up to speed and help you all throughout the way. If you're a veteran, you know the drill (I think).

If you're unfamiliar with the game, Forum Mafia is all about two competing parties: Town, and Mafia. Town are bigger in numbers than Mafia, but only the Mafia know who the other Mafiosos are. Each day, all of you partake in a discussion on who's the scummiest player of the day and eventually decide on lynching a player through voting, while during nights, those with power roles will be able to use them, but most importantly the Mafia will kill Townies. Either the Mafia wins the game by outnumbering the Town (or having equal votes to the Townie), or the Town win by eliminating all Mafia.

The game does not require any software (other than the browser you're reading this thread with), and you only need to post once every 48 hours. If real life is being a thorn on your side, we understand and will respect that. (just please don't abuse our goodwill kthx). You can find learning material in this thread. Don't be afraid to ask us! We will answer your questions to the best of our ability.

The game will be a closed setup (meaning nobody except me and any moderators know what power roles are in the game and who has them), and will include a 24/7 scumchat (and yes it's public knowledge this time). If you don't want to play but wish to discuss the game with other observers, signing in as an observer is possible. You can also be a substitute for a leaving player.

Nice, nice.

(Gr thinks to himself: "I wonder if Pooka knows that desert sand is terrible for building skyscrapers?")

For clarification and stuff:
Mamlaka al Shams: Arabic for "Kingdom of the Sun"
Habibi: Arabic for "my love" or "my dear" or what have you - depends on context.
Playercount: Sign ups are open for as many players as possible, not just ten players.
Peeves: yes
Why did you yeet the Giza Pyramids: What other way to scream "one of Pooka's Earths" other than yeeting one of the seven ancient wonders?

So you might receive help from auxiliary moderators? That is interesting. Is that common? Sure it might be helpful, don't you think?

Actually, it qualifies as a videogame. A multiplayer one, at that.
