Hi!
Don't know if this has been asked, but I thought I'd give it a shot anyway.

If I would like to burn a copy of a game I bought on GOG, is there a way to make the .exe file AutoRun when I insert the disc into my PC?

The most common answer I have found is to create a AutoRun.ini file with notepad, and input the proper text commands in the file, but I have never been able to get it to work.

Would anyone here be able to help me?
I thought modern operating systems blocked autorun for discs and USB memory.
Hi,

the file has to be named Autorun.inf for it to work.

A basic structure is something like this:

[AUTORUN]
OPEN=your_filename.exe
ICON=Game_icon.ico

I'll give it a try!

Two questions:
Why would you want to burn games to disposable media? What if there is a patch or new exe? Use hdd's and cover the old media.
Also, even in the scenario where you would want a cd, why does it need to autorun?

Also seen too many programs over the years that like to create their own temp directories.

Maybe the poster is asking about autoinstall and said autorun by mistake?

I used to do the same thing just a couple of years ago, my library was of course much smaller so it was easily manageable (although not convenient).

Now I just keep my entire library on a dedicated hard disk within an enclosure for easy portability.

Only reason I'd put a game on CD now, only if I wanted to put in a DVD box like the old days. :-)

Yes, I think most would have started off with cds or a small external hdd. I have been through loads over the years. Wouldn't go back to physical media however, takes up a lot of space, isn't necessarily re-writable (at least easily), harder to back up, and in case of a large collection can be expensive. Not to mentions saves, mods, patches etc. I still use disc images but nothing physical.
I wanted to burn a copy of Lula - The Sexy Empire to put inside my old big box release, so I have a more future proof copy of the game if I want to run it on a PC with newer OS. It's that simple.
I have all these old blank CD-R's laying around, so why not put them to use.
I doubt there will be a patch released for Lula, and IF there is one, it's not like the one I have now burned is not playable.

It worked by the way! Thanks again for the help :)
