This is not an illusion.

Mages of Mystralia, the enchanting action/adventure of rigorous spellcrafting, has just pulled a pretty significant update from under its pointy hat! To celebrate, it received a price drop, plus both the game and the OST are going on sale at 20% off for one week, until August 29, 2 PM UTC.

This update brings about the all-new Archmage Mode, which aims to fine-tune the difficulty curve while adding some cool stuff, like:
- Four new, exclusive enemy types, each representing an element.
- A number of optional puzzles, requiring you to either craft a specific type of spell or break a magical seal by rearranging nodes.

The price drop is already in effect and the 20% discount will last until August 29, 2 PM UTC.
Sorry, JMich. :P
Price... DROP?!

Not published by Paradox, I see... HUUUMMM ;D

Why? If more people actually do the things I do, I could actually slack without feeling any kind of guilt. Not that I feel much guilt when slacking, or something like that.
How is the spellmaking system in this game? Is it anything like the ones in the Elder Scrolls, or is it completely different? Is it fun to play around with?

Look at this:

Not sure how exactly looks spellcrafting in Elder Scrolls, but I guess it is significantly diffrent.
In MoM you got 4 kinds of basic spells: close, range, area and self. Every can be one of 4 elements: electric/wind, fire, ice and earth. After choosing basic spell you are adding behaviors like bounce from walls, homing to enemy or duplicate and etc. Next you can put an Augments like increase the size, speed or direction of movment and more. And there are triggers. Triggers will cast chosen spell from your spellbook when they are triggered.

There is a little play with it, but you can't do too much because every modifier has max number of connections and they are limited by side that can be connected. It is not to deep but still fun to mess with it.

To be honest MoM is a casual game (didn't play in new dificulty mode yet) so everything is pretty simple and easy.
And it should be noted that this is more a puzzle game than an action game.

PS.
Sorry for my english, it is not my native language :)
Not that I'm complaining but what's with all the price drops after updates lately? Sticking it to the others?
Love to see another mode for those that love higher difficulties, would love to see more folks getting this game as I want to see more from this company!
Worth noting for people who are either impatient or just don't have the time to waste, I think it took me somewhere between 1-2 hours before I could really do anything with the spellmaking system, and even then nothing particularly interesting. Over 3.5 hours in now (somehow the save says 32% completion) and there's still not a whole lot to work with. More than before, but not too much. So if you're really excited about the spellmaking, be warned that you'll have to play for a while to get to whatever depth it may have.
Strewth! I thought this would be able Australian magicians, but strike a light, it's not!
Gonna have to ask old mate for a refund on me dollarydoos.
Indie, not in early access, reasonable price, what is this sorcery?
