It is known that those who got Mafia 2 and Mafia 3 in their library on Steam received Definitive editions for free. Do the same rules apply to GOG? I got Mafia 2 on GOG, will I get the Defenitive edition for free?

Still not sold on it being better though. Doom 3 and Bioshock have left me jaded. I assume the massive size increase is better textures though, which is compelling.

I kinda took that as a given.
I'm sure the "what are these bugs doing here when they weren't in the old version?!" threads will play out accordingly, once everyone stops falling over themselves because "hey, free stuff!" and all.

I'm mostly just interested in the remake of Mafia 1. We haven't really seen anything of it yet. Just a short teaser and some staged screenshots.
I think it could be really good. Though I'm also one of the few people that actually liked Mafia 3 even with its many, many flaws.

Mafia 3 is not being remastered it seems, or if it is it's very minor. The Definitive Edition is simply the original game with all DLC, so basically what has always been the Deluxe Edition. And it's a free upgrade on Steam and Xbox (I have the disc version and just got all the DLC free to bring it to Definitive standard). I assume people with the GOG version will get all the DLC at some point as well.

From watching a playthrough, I just don't see it. Those slightly (and when I say "slightly," I mean slightly) better textures must be huge files.
Only addition I saw was the ability to have Vito wear Clay's M65 jacket / outfit. Why would I ever want to do that?
The Mafia I remake feels about like the Sniper Elite V2 remake. Both were new engines. Made some sense. But Mafia II and III remasters just seem like repackaging to desperately try to make some more sales on console. I'd bite if II had a new engine, but no reason ATM... and Mafia II is one of my favorite games of all time.
