bler144: I'm a bit surprised you didn't go with this
But that wouldn't convey the connotation I was going for. :P

It is interesting the names that RWarehall chose as lurkers though. Sometimes what is left unsaid might be more important than what is said, so I'll leave it at that.
agentcarr – Did not add much the first couple of days, but more than made up for it in recently. Good observations.

bler – making some newbie mistakes, early mistakes seemed easy enough to overlook, the more recent joking was harder to overlook. Has gotten more serious and more constructively adding to the discussion.

Bookwyrm – his play stands out the most so far, I’ve covered this in other posts

CSPVG – He’s like the wind (and now I have that song in my head), hard to pin down. Most recent post shows he’s paying closer attention than past games. Good to see some analysis from him.

dedoporno – the factions/players things seems like an honest mistake, some good observations, had me fooled in the milk game, so we’ll see

flubbucket – went after something he noticed early with zest, previously did that as scum but may also do so as town

JMich – has interacted more than I expected, I don’t expect him to provide player analysis Today, makes it hard to get a read on him early

Krypsyn - the youtube king, I don’t know how many times he’s been scum in a row, probability would say he should finally be town this time. This is my first mafia game with Kryspyn, although I did watch the Stalker game.

Leonard – didn’t hear much from him before he left, would also like to see him stick around if Vitek doesn’t see a problem

RWarehall – Either town or working hard to make himself look town

Sage - adding in observations, certainly more active than the last game

trentonlf - votes and arguments have been consistent with past games

yogsloth – seems to be working hard to help town, play appears consistent

Trying to rank players at this point would be rather pointless. Almost everyone would end up neutral. Unless someone else starts to stick out, I don’t know who to vote for besides Bookwyrm. I am still suspicious that he could be playing his first scum game. Some suspicion has been cast on Sage, she could be scum, but I don’t see anything very telling so far. Kryspyn is pushing for RWarehall, I don’t see that either. Flubb has a vote on dedo, I’m not sure if that is still a serious vote or not.

May I make a suggestion - if anyone still has a RVS vote, they remove it so we can be more certain we stand.

A) The humor may be telling, or it may have just been temporary cover while I retooled and tried to suss out what I was actually supposed to be doing given the weird customs and slow pace. Or I was drunk.
B) You've perfectly described the gambler's fallacy.
C) Fair enough...uh, who is my vote on?

unvote Sage (or whomever)
I won't bore you with the drama of my life.

I will be able to read the thread now so I can contribute something.

Given all the drama in your real life, it must be comforting to come here and wield the power of deciding who to NK, I'd imagine.

Obviously.

bler144: B) You've perfectly described the gambler's fallacy.
Yep. I posted a link to video that dealt with it as well, albeit with an absurdist bent. I'll post this one instead, because it is possibly counter-intuitive given the gambler's fallacy.

Rereading my 'Obviously' reply to cristigale above, and I think it needs a little clarification. I wasn't being snarky (for once), I meant that, yes, Bookwyrm627 is an obvious choice for a vote.

...

I have no intention of voting for him this Day.
FWIW, I'm aware my [deliriously funny] gambit above had a 0.00001% chance of working.

Had I spent more time carefully crafting it, I would have said something more like "Given all the scum you must have to deal with in your work life, it must be great to come here and turn the tables."

That would have, y'know, raised the odds of eliciting a slip all the way to 0.0001%.

I have seen gambits like that work IRL (albeit rarely) but here there's really no visual tells, no real ability to build empathy, and even if someone were reckless enough to start typing something like "Oh yeah, tot..." they'd probably still figure it out long before they hit 'Post.'
Thoughts:

Post# 260 - Yes RWarehall stifling discussion is bad as a general rule. JMich's point right after does have some merit. Some discussion is better had later rather than sooner.

Post #262 - agentcarr16 makes some interesting points.

Lurkers are bad - I think - but maybe not

He agrees with Bookwyrm627, but they're not friends.

Krypsyn voting is bad - but maybe not

"my inexperience" ....I don't think that means what you think it means. <------ Insert Inigo Montoya meme here

He talks about bler144 role claim (sort of) and what Sage thinks about it. bler144 stated clearly in post #171 "Town ERP fanatic." Town is not neutral or survivor. Town is town.

I reserve the right to change my mind upon further reading. But this post makes me think scum without hesitation.

Unvote: dedoporno

Vote: agentcarr16

Agreed.

Oh, bother, I must be tired. I totally misread flubbucket's post the first time through. I thought that was his own thoughts on me rather than him paraphrasing agentcarr16. Oh well, that kid in the vid is super awesome, so I don't regret linking it at all. :P

Krypsyn: Agreed.
I know you lost your tiara in the vote count, but while I haven't tallied I feel fairly confident in assessing that you are by far the most talked about player in the game.
Mo' Thoughts:

bler144 - Post #266 - Firstly, Vitek is a troll from the land of trolls. Be careful taking all he says at face value. A game I hosted recently had a PGO living on the outskirts and he was totally townie.

What is HBP finger??

agentcarr16 - Post #268 - I guessing the part of the OP about no-lynch cristigale quoted has been edited out??

Comments regard Bookwyrm's posting are good, thank you.

At this rate I'll be caught up in a couple of weeks.....

I've had trouble reading Vitek, so that's useful to know that maybe it's not just me. It has made it harder I think to have my first game period have a somewhat inscrutable mod. But personally I think I'm doing swimmingly under the circumstances. After all, it's been like 4 days, I'm not dead yet, and Town is almost certainly still ahead! So I think I'm winning, pretty clearly.

Did I say HBP finger? I know I used HBP, probably in reference to someone being in ill health. If my background is in the medical fields, HBP would be the common shorthand for High Blood Pressure. If my background is in professional sports, it would be short-hand for 'Hit by pitch.'

I suppose either of those could be dangerous.

One may observe that, as the hour grows later, my posts clearly get a bit more ...free ranging.
