Since it is kept being mentioned, it's probably worth reminding that you can get a refund for any piñata game, no questions asked, as long as you haven't downloaded it. I haven't bought any piñatas and I have never refunded a game, but from reading other posts it seems a fast and painless process, and you get your money in Wallet funds.

I just hate this kind of sale.
I want to know what game I'm buying before.

Breja: I love all these "I love the idea of getting a game cheap, but why is there a chance of getting something I don't want? fix it pls" threads. It's like all of you people just refuse to understand how the whole pinata thing works, and that maybe buying a game blindly is just a stupid idea.
Clearly we are not 'refusing to understand' and if you hadn't been in such an pompous frame of mind, you might not have misunderstood us and missed the point. Just imagine that GoG had offered Mac pinatas, and Linux pinatas. We would be happy. We would not have posted on the forum, no matter what actual Mac or Linux title we got from a pinata, pre-owned or unwanted. This has nothing at all to do with "got something I didn't want" or "got something I already have".

While every pinata game can at least potentially be of benefit to Windows customers, this is not true for other platforms. By design, this sale slash promo is not something that Mac or Linux customers can participate in with the same odds as everyone else. Discounted games are subsidised from the company's profit, which Mac and Linux customers contribute to, so why shouldn't we also have an equal chance to benefit? This promo was ill-designed.

OP never suggested it shouldn't be a gamble, or that pinatas are wrong because we might get a title that we are not interested in playing. Other threads might have said those things. But we didn't, we just want the same odds and same potential.

On the other hand, if Pinatas were selected based on the OS used then Mac and Linux users would probably have a higher chance of getting something like Tyranny compared to Win users, since many "cheap" wins would be sorted out, not really fair either.

Only real solution would be to just include hybrid titles...

jazzomatic: Bought two of these things, two windows games :/

01kipper: If you get windows games, I'd suggest contacting support for a refund. It's a PITA, but it's the only thing we Mac users can do if we want to participate in this.

Personally I don't mind that they don't have Mac piñatas, it saves me the temptation to buy one :).
I did! And it worked :) Great folks at GOG.
Two simple solutions:
1) Only throw games with Win/Mac/Linux support into the pool
2) Choose an OS once when buying the first package

Not necessarily, it just depends on the algorithm.

Say that games are filtered by "rarity", and that you have a fixed chance of getting a "rare" game, no matter which OS you are on.

Then your chance of getting a rare game wouldn't change if you changed OS.
