As the Wave II timer ticks down to a zero for the last time, one of the most exciting weeks in the history of GOG.com comes to a close. We couldn't be happier with the series of amazing titles we added to our catalog this week, and we're proud to have teamed up with ©Disney Interactive to finally restore six iconic Star Wars™ games back into the hands of gamers exclusively on GOG.com.

January 22:

January 20:
A long time ago in a galaxy near you, ©Disney Interactive and GOG.com teamed up to bring you the holy grail of classic gaming: six Lucasfilm cult-classics were added to our DRM-free catalog, including three titles which saw their digital premiere on GOG.com. We also made a promise to bring you many more cult-classics in the future and, believe us, we did not forget.

Today, with great pride and joy, we're excited to announce Wave II of Lucasfilm games on GOG.com! Starting right now, six new Star Wars™ classics are available in our DRM-free Lucasfilm/Disney catalog. This includes three amazing titles available, for the first time in digital distribution, exclusively on GOG.com:

Star Wars™: X-Wing Alliance™ - digital distribution debut, on GOG.com!

Star Wars™ Battlefront™ II
Star Wars™: Dark Forces
Star Wars™ Knights of the Old Republic™ II: The Sith Lords™

Just in case you missed your chance last time, you can grab three more Lucasfilm classics for the same 20% discount, until Friday, January 30, at 1:59 PM GMT!
Star Wars™ Knights of the Old Republic™
Indiana Jones® and the Fate of Atlantis™
The Secret of Monkey Island™: Special Edition

Our Lucasfilm/Disney is made that much more impressive today thanks to our team-up with ©Disney Interactive. The 6 new Star Wars™ releases, which include 3 digital premieres exclusively on GOG.com, are barely the beginning. We're not saying more right now, but we know the wait will be worth it for six great reasons - keep watching the front page and stay tuned for more exciting Lucasfilm titles releasing on GOG.com when the timer strikes zero!

rtcvb32: Unexpected news to wake up to... Although I'm not a large fan of Star Wars, I'll probably end up getting them all at a later date.
Neither was the lead designer for Knights of the Old Republic II... Get that one ;)
I play to buy all of the Lucas Arts and Star Wars stuff on GOG, but I still has no monies. P

Oh, well... Time to get busy wishlisting more stuff.
Not really a Star Wars fan, but I am an Obsidian fan, so I'll pick up KOTOR 2.

I know some people will interpret this as "bitching," because some people interpret anything that isn't fawning praise as "bitching," but I'm not going to pretend to be super excited that we're getting twelve Star Wars games in a row; actually, I think the way GOG's going about this is pretty baffling, and releases that should have been major news (e.g. Sam and Max) got largely overshadowed be being dumped onto the store alongside Tie Fighter and X-Wing. Hopefully non-Star Wars stuff is still in the cards, although if they actually signed "about twenty games" as I think they said, then between twelve Star Wars games and the six initial releases, they're basically done. Maybe more will be negotiated.
I think perhaps the original number of games that was given is no longer accurate. It's very possible GOG and Disney extended their initial deal after seeing the sales numbers of the first wave.

Yeah there's no way. If we are getting 6 more this week and more next week it's safe to say Disney has opened up.

Is it Thursday yet?

It's probably not a good idea to get caught up in GOG's marketing speak.

Remember all the problems that were had after the initial release when people were interpreting GOG statements like "you can expect to see Lucasfilm games popping up frequently"...

You've got to take promotional statements with a grain of salt.
