PeveraL79: i'm playing diablo 1 hellfire that i paid for here on GOG and through some reading of previous people's issues i found out what saved game files look like and even tho i can find the save file in the folder with hellfire, when i go to play i cant get my character to show up. ive been trying to play all day since i paid for this and for some reason the game will crash when i go to go through a portal or go to go down levels. and sometimes when that happens my saved character will still be there but other times it won't be.
help plz/ty.
Sorry, your post is not really clear. Are you trying to put save games from an old version of diablo into a new install from GOG? So long as the files are for the same version it should work, however if the old files are for a different version, or perhaps without hellfire then it probably won’t.
Or are you saying that files you create within the game are having issues? Perhaps linking the thread with “other people’s issues” would also help.
I assume you have removed standard issues, don’t run with galaxy, install to c:/mygames, make sure the game runs fine from just a base install, no copying of files?
