swsoboleski89: what exactly is a Warcraft 2 & 3 clone?
anything like diablo 2 or path of exile?

Lord_Kane: Warcraft 2 and 3 are known as RTS or "Real Time Strategy" games like the aforementioned Warcraft other games in this genre include Command and Conquer, Dark Reign, Starcraft.
Diablo 2 and PoE are ARPG or Action Role Playing Games.
alright thanks for the info, even with the condescension.

Breja: But if we're looking at Warcraft clones, I'm much rather get Armies of Exigo here.
If you prefer Warcraft III to Warcraft I / II, that is.

Breja: And somehow Warcraft 2 still looks better. Seriously, this game looks weird, like everything is made of wax or something. I'll give the demo a shot though, why not?

To be honest, I've got impression (at least basing on screenshots) that graphics is a bit similar to Warlords: Battlecry 1-2. Especially some buildings are incredibly close to this style (turrets, barracks..)

I've played in Armies of Exigo, but IMO Kingdom Under Fire is more interesting in "cloning" Warcraft 2. Graphics and control are probably made better in AoE, but other than that, KUF has impressive spells library (for both sides of conflict), more interesting campaign and for my taste, variety of units on both sides is also more interesting than in AoE.
age of empires is prolly the next best thing to warcraft if we are just talking old 90's RTS games
