Hi.
I recently started to play Armello and was wondering about animation (tv-shows or movies) with similar settings and styles - a typical fantasy world of anthropomorphic animals.
I know about Redwall series (though I don't remember magic being prominent there) and Argai (though it was partially set in the future). Can someone recall more? Preferrably closer to Armello setting? BEcause it's rather hard to google such things - if I type "fantasy anthropomorphic animals" the search results are... shall we say not about fantasy genre.

REDWALL HAS A TV SERIES? THAT'S so cool!!! :)))))

Anyway, if you add onto your your google search fantasy anthropomorphic animals tv series, or movies, you'll get a list. I jut tried it, and this makes the search fine.

So, if you want a great cartoon, check out Thundercats! There's also an anime reboot, but I heard it's not as good (it's way darker too) and it was cancelled, unlike the original Western TV series that ends well.

My Little Pony also often features anthropomorphic animals.

Older Disney movies often have these types of characters and are in a fantasy setting, although they tend to be told in a more novel way, instead of being action-intensive.

Well the setting would be closer to modern day but I can suggest the TV series The Raccoons. It is more for younger audiences however they do very strong character episodes and they don't hit you over the head with a moral lesson like most shows do, another plus to the show is that the characters do grow over the series so it is not like most cartoon shows were a bad guy learns that something he is doing is wrong but then forgets about it completely by the next episode to keep the status quo of the bad guy.
Not a crowded genre I think. It's easier to find in books and comics than movies TV.

A few I can think of right now:

Sylvan- a Spanish cartoon, but it was apparently broadcast in english. No idea if it's possible to find the whole thing anywhere.

Guardians of Ga'Hoole - the story is rather cliched, but the animation is great. It was downright amazing when released, and still more than holds up.

Secret of Nimh - Don Bluth's magnum opus. Superb animated classic. I guess technically it's more sci-fi than fantasy, but it definitely feels and looks more fantasy.

Redwall was good.
Doubling recommendation of Owls of Ga'Hoole and Secret of Nimh.
The Wind and the Willows has has numerous adaptations; I remember liking one. 1995 maybe?

Comics: Mouse Guard. Scurry.
Narrative campaign board game: Mice & Mystics.
Beastars is Zootopia the anime, right down to violent outbursts being life as usual instead of drug-trips.
