https://techraptor.net/gaming/news/lollipop-chainsaw-remake-as-close-as-possible-to-original-say-devs

Game is being handled by Dragami Games, no platforms have been officially announced and original creator Suda 51 will not be handling the project.

However they interesting thing is that they are doing a full remake rather than a remaster is due to music licenses as they couldn't secure the right to 16 songs that were in the original game so they are going the remake route to craft the game around the new music (apparently, nothing has been confirmed in the part).

The director of this version has stated that they are going to keep the game as close to the original as possible in terms of models and content.

Not sure if this game is coming here.

I heard about it but never played it. I only know it has one of the embarrassing achievements and is a little infamous for the cheerleader with a chainsaw "sexualizing characters" trope.

I do like Suda 51 but heard his greats were no more heroes and Killer 7. No More Heroes is good and goofy.
I don't think this is a game that really needed remade.

True, however this is a remake being done purely do to the studio not being able to secure licensing to the music in the original game as I do believe some of the special moves were built around the music.

So it is interesting to see a remake being done due to licensing rights.
I was pretty happy when I heard the announcement, although the modern remake/more realistic approach left me worried a little as nowadays that has rather negative connotation. It's good to see Yasuda elaborating on the matter further and clarifying some ambiguous points. I'm not a console gamer, so unless it comes to PC (I would say there is a rather slight chance of it happening, while some of Dragami games are on steam already), then it won't affect me. I see the main appeal in this release is to make it the game available again for purchase, running on current gen hardware.

If you have the original release, then by all means play that. Imo it's a cult game, definitely in Suda's top 3 projects he ever participated in.
It kinda slaps people who judge books by its cover, but it has always been their own loss. I only wonder how the new music will fit in, whether it reaches the original vibes, quality and synergises with the gameplay. I'm sure the dev team will try their best in case of this game....gotta wait and see.
Thank god. I wanted to play this but couldn't because it's not on PC or Switch. I'm fairly confident it's coming to one of those platforms.
The original Lollipop Chainsaw used to be one of my favorite games at one point in time, so i'm probably going to try out the remake eventually.
