DadJoke007: I'm thinking of giving Neverwinter Nights an honest try. Would the module "A dance with rogues" be a good place to start? Or are there better mods to start with? The main game doesn't seem appealing at all to be honest.
https://neverwintervault.org/project/nwn1/module/dance-rogues-part-one Depends on what you're looking for. "A Dance With Rogues" is a competent module centered on the rogue character class, but it's definitely not for everyone, as it's very heavy on erotic/sexual content and even starts out with a rape scene. You're expected to play a young woman, and lots of characters in the game will hit on you or make innuendos and such. From what I recall, there are ample roleplay opportunities and you don't have to go along with everything, but it's constantly there, and some things you just can't avoid either.
If that bothers you, a safer and very popular choice would be the
Aielund Saga, it's one of the most epic campaigns taking you from level 1 to level 40. Personally, I also liked the
Prophet series a lot, if you're looking for a linear but gripping story.
