I'm really surprised this isn't on GOG yet. It's the type of game that GOG usually gets as far as the older school games go. Anyway this would be awesome for me because these are some of my favorite games ever. I hope we see Dungeon Master 1 and 2 on GOG soon :)

Yeah. It would be so cool if these games were on GOG.
It might be helpful if ScummVM were to support the series, especially the Amiga versions so we can get the original Dungeon Master with the Chaos Strikes Back expansion. They do support a few first person dungeon crawlers so it's not out of the realm of possibility.

Good point. How do we go about making this happen? I assume its out of our hands huh? Hopefully GOG reads this thread and considers it!

I was holding my breath when GOG announced that latest batch of old games. I was hoping I'd see Dungeon Master within that lot, lol.

You could enter your new comment to old thread… https://www.gog.com/forum/general/dungeon_master_chaos_strikes_back_and_dungeon_master_2

But, I believe that more people would be interested what you did in last months to get it here?

Did you look for IP owner? To who did you wrote emails? Etc.

If you made some progress, others will gladly help you. But, if you only repeats same speech ...

I'm not exactly sure what I can do personally to get it here. However, I have spoken to Doug Bell on Facebook about it since he was part of the development, but he didn't exactly go into detail about it, but mentioned the rights directly belong to Wayne Holder and it's his decision and he said he'd speak to Wayne about it but never mentioned it again. He acted like he never heard of GOG before. Which makes me wonder if GOG has even approached them about it. So it's a mystery if GOG and Holder have had dialogue in the past.

I did tell him that there is some interest in bringing these games back to life here on GOG, but since I'm just a fan, my word only carries so much weight and couple that with him not even knowing what GOG is probably made him footnote my inquiry and not take it that seriously.

Perhaps someone here knows these two people somehow and would be better suited at opening dialogue with them about this particular subject.

In the end I'm guessing it's up to GOG to reach out to these people and fans can only do so much.

Either way I'm hoping that GOG reads this and attempts to bring these old gems here.

And FYI I forgot all about that thread you linked. Lol

It is great, progress!

In past also others tried to contact them - https://www.dungeon-master.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=29687

Here is mentioned Doug Bell LinkedIn, but you already spoke with him… Luckily it is possible to find Wayne Holder LinkedIn profile - https://www.linkedin.com/in/wayne-holder-60623030/

I believe, that if we (I mean all fans who would like to get DM here) contact him, one by one (not all simultaneously) and tell him, that people are willing by it on GOG, maybe he would allow it.

Do you agree with me?

Yup, I agree 100%. Now you should contact him and us get others to do the same :)

I've tweeted Stephen Kick (CEO of Nightdive Studios) about Dungeon Master a few times.

Jun 28, 2018: "Funny you should ask - I had a conversation about a year ago with the rights holder and they were interested in working with us. I'll follow up and see if that's still the case."

Oct 6, 2018: "They've been hard to lock down but the interest is there!"

Done, 300 characters was tough, but brief message was sent.

I will inform you, if I get a reply!
Wasn't this a pretty much done deal already?

GOG teased Dungeon Master three months ago on their German twitter account by posting a picture of the Dungeon Master 2 manual.

To be honest I would have expected it to be here already.

I thought that ended up being about nothing?
Why not try the free remakes?

Haven't tried them myself, though. Last time I played DM and CSB I used an Amiga emulator.

I have. But there is just something more substantive being able to buy it here on GOG :)
