I don't know a lot of his stuff, but Hallelujah is one of my favourite songs of all time (though I prefer Jeff Buckley's haunting version, it was his genius that wrote the song).

From what I know and have heard about him he was a very genuine and humble person as well as being incredibly talented.

It's a shame and a great loss, though at least he reached a decent age, unlike many of the recent celebrity deaths...
