Hey GOG folks!

Here's the situation: my wife was recently admitted to a hospital for a surgery (she has cancer) and I am desperately trying to cheer up our 5-year old son. He got into gaming just recently and we started playing some co-op games together.

I recently bought LEGO Avengers TWICE by mistake so now I have a copy to give away. We have since completed the game together and we had a blast!

His favorite characters are Hulk and Spider-man and since then he keeps bugging me for stories and curious about these two characters. I am not a particular fan of superheroes - except Batman, so I decided to run a little contest for the CD key.

I would like you guys to dig up some interesting facts and stories about Hulk and Spider-man over the weekend that I can relay to my son and make him happy.

One random forum member will receive the key on Sunday afternoon.

Thank you in advance!
Jager

I'm in

One interesting fact I found out about Spider-man:
It was revealed during the late ’60s that Spider-Man’s parents were actually government agents operating as members of S.H.I.E.L.D.

Richard and Mary were killed shortly after giving birth to Peter in a rigged plane crash that was orchestrated by the Red Skull. That’s mostly all we know about this covert couple aside from a few extremely confusing and stupid subplots, including one when they show up alive only to turn out to be cyborgs.
Not in but if you want to scar your son for life you could show him this:

LOL at the Bat tits.

But seriously - my son is a brave kid.
For example:

-his mom spends more time at the hospital than at home
-he loves Halloween costumes - the scarier the better.
-he watched me play some of the Outlast - well, the kinder bits at least
-he wants me to play God of War series, but I refuse
-he is a fan of scary clowns
-knows most of the classic horror film psychos
-his first comfort toy was a custom made doll of Slender Man that was bigger than him (about 1 m)
-his not afraid of injections
-hes wants to own a pet Tarantula - I refused - in fact he wants one for his birthday
-he wants to play Five Nights at Freddys and knows all of the characters in it - LOL
etc.

The only thing he is consistently afraid of are spooky dolls - Chucky, Annabelle etc.

Come on guys- you really need to step it up to make it interesting.
I need more fun facts - not Bat tits.:)
Actor Lou Ferrigno played the Hulk in the 80, and continues to voice the Hulk in current Marvel Cinematic Universe.
There are so many things I can talk about those 2 but most of them would be spoilery and tbh, I don't even know where to start. How about this: Hulk was originally supposed to be grey but because the printers back then can't keep his color consistent throughout the pages, Stan Lee decided to change it to a much easier colour to print: green. Nevertheless, Hulk has been through several colors, from grey to red, over the years due to plot and it isn't always Bruce Banner who uses the name Hulk. When you son grows up and is still interested in Hulk, he should check out Planet Hulk someday, especially if he also knows about the other Marvel characters. As for spidey, well... just don't read One More Day.
After reading some wikis of superheroes it struck me that they often have some soppy story behind them - some grievance or tragedy or injustice.

When I was a kid I took a liking for superheroes on looks and costume alone. As you get older, your preferences change and you suddenly want characters with a good backstory.
I'll be in. I tried to pick some facts your son might enjoy, based on your description of him.

- There was actually a Spider-Man at Marvel before the one in the 60s. This one was...well...an actual spider. Blasted with radiation, it grew to huge proportions and had human intelligence. It was killed at the story's end, but it's still interesting to see that the idea was there.

- Spider-Man's webbing only lasts for about an hour. It was originally made with liquid cement.
- Spider-Man's parents were spies.
- Marvel's original publishers thought Spider-Man wouldn't be very popular since people hate spiders.
- According to Stan Lee, one reason that Spider-Man wears a mask is so that his enemies can't see that he's afraid.
- Spider-Man briefly joined the Fantastic Four.
- This is a pretty cool infographic:

- Hulk stands at 7'-8' and weighs around 1,040 pounds.
- Hulk can lift 100 tons when calm and gets stronger the madder he gets. There's no known limit to his strength, it changes drastically (as always) depending on the writer.
- Despite being a founding member of the Avengers, Hulk left the group after one issue. He did not rejoin them for another 50 years' worth of comics.
- Hulk can travel 3 miles in one leap.
- This is another neat infographic:

- This has nothing to do with anything:

Your kid might like the villains Venom, Carnage, and Toxic. He also might enjoy reading some of the old Journey into Mystery comics.
I hope your wife gets well soon. Thank god, cancer is curable especially if you undergo a surgery.

As for the giveaway, i'll be in.

Hello, I only saw your thread now and I want to wish your wife strong health, strong self-believe and will of god, that she defeats this horror and wins this battle. Thank you!
You can check out https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCKxQmKgrkUv4S7P5w0pLayw for more comics related content. It is one of my go to channels.
I was going to add this earlier.

As well as being able to do the things a Spider can, Peter Parker also can't do the things a spider can't.

Most problematic is not being able to get out of a bath. Poor Peter can only use walk in showers, which is a shame since he loved have a nice long bubble bath.
